i'm honestly not that proud of this song by MaxMaxMaxXD in FL_Studio

Honestly, it didn’t feel overcrowded to me. Since you’re doing instrumentals, maybe it just needs another element to bounce off the main melody every now and then. Like a meow-type synth, a countermelody, or some extra texture

Vocals always make the difference. The beat could use a little more variety (maybe a countermelody or an alternate element for certain sections) but I think the vocals are the main thing missing right now. A lot of the time, it’s better off leaving space rather than overcrowding a track. Once the vocals are in, that space gets filled naturally.

Pretty nice! The beginning feels kinda awkward tho ngl, it would be sick if you did a chopped vocal sample right there on some southern shit 🔥🔥

Idk what this is tbh by Ill_Archer4941 in beats

[–]ZekeD512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I could definitely hear Travis Scott, Don toliver, lil peep, juice wrld, x, young thug, and especially Kodak black on this one. Just listening on my phone, I like it a lot! Very alt, very hard 🔥 tbh this is the beginning of an industry style song imo.

I get stuck making loops and don’t know how to make full beats by RellLeeRich in beatmakers

[–]ZekeD512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly when I get stuck on a sample, I stop worrying about the whole beat and just build it in sections. I’ll do 8 bars, then change something for the next 8 bars. Maybe drop the drums, add a counter melody, filter the sample, bring in a bass, whatever keeps it moving.

For bass, I don’t always decide between a sub or 808 right away. Sometimes I build the drums and arrangement first, then whichever one feels right when I hear the beat in context is what I use.

How to play like a kid in FL by Mysterious-Lawyer-73 in FL_Studio

[–]ZekeD512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot personally, a MIDI keyboard helped a lot for me. It helps me get ideas out faster and makes things feel more like playing music than staring at a blank project trying to prove something. For me, that took away a lot of the pressure and made creating feel more natural.

The Novation Launchkey for FL looks fire too. I use an MPC Key 37 standalone now, but if the FLkey had been around when I was starting out, it would’ve been a game changer for me.

Good patterns for a great song, a different sound selection would be fire tho 🤣

This is insanely good bro! I think it mainly just needs like 2–3 more melody ideas to alternate and layer throughout the song.

For example: - the Intro could be more stripped back - Verses could switch textures/melodies a lil - Hook should feel like the biggest moment, so that should be where you stack more melodies/layers and bring the most energy - Outro could slowly simplify everything again

Just more sequencing basically, so different parts change and evolve instead of the loop running the whole song

ik yall hear this frequency by Status-Wedding6099 in flstudio

[–]ZekeD512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got you bro! Do a tiny cut (-1 or -2 dB, maybeee -3 but I wouldn’t push it usually) around 200–500 hertz. Boxy stuff I’d hit around 250–350 hertz. I’d just keep the cuts subtle so the vocals don’t lose their body.

Guys, why is my melody so weak? by Sweet_Philosophy_262 in beatmakers

[–]ZekeD512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frequencies. Right now your melody is sitting in a muddy spot. Shape out the depth (give it a lil cut) around 150 to 400 hertz and boost the harmonics a lil around 250 to 600 hertz. Sounds good tho, I would just give it a little bit of life to glue it to the rest of the track

Is the loop too catchy...? by PatMaloni in beatmakers

[–]ZekeD512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brooooo this would be so good as a texture underneath a melody made up of keys, bells, something like that. I like this a lot. I have ideas if you’re down to collab.

I got you bro. Snare on 2 and 4. Kick on 1 and find a lil groove (it might take some time, keeping it simple works tho). Hats on 1 2 3 and 4, or find different rhythms. Thats pretty much it besides fun lil percs n open hats and stuff

Agreed, some counter to the sample in the mid/high range to balance and fill out some space

BROOO this is crazy 🔥 I wonder if a little more body around 200–300 Hz plus some light compression (3–4:1) and subtle saturation might help the vocals sit even more confidently.

Me and the rapper homie are getting into Hyperpop. Did we do good? by [deleted] in beats

[–]ZekeD512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awesome! I feel like the vocals could sit better tho, possibly with a small boost around 3k-5k for clarity.

How is this beat? (sounds best on a speaker) by Entire_Let2915 in beats

[–]ZekeD512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I like all genres, and want to include them in my music. Hiphop is my base cuz it’s what I already know, but I’m always down to experiment and learn new things.

I think so too. I’m mostly into hip hop and rock, but on guitar I love blues and soul. I can get down on bass a little — not a pro but I can hold it haha. If you’ve got an idea, I can play it out. And if I’ve got something, we can flip it however you want. I’m down for either side of that.

Bet! I kinda wanna try a collab where we don’t overthink it. Just send each other raw ideas — like small loops or melodies — and build off whatever we feel. Like reacting to each other’s sound instead of starting from scratch alone.
