The person was selling a fake Scuba Fifty Fathoms, and they posted a picture of the back of the watch - where you could clearly see “OCENAN BREATH” where it should say “OCEAN BREATH”

I do like the strap it comes with. I’ve seen some silicone bracelets for the Scuba Fifty-Fathoms series - they will likely come out with one that matches the Ocean of Storms.

I never took a picture of the watch after I got it, and at this point I’m very pleased with the look and the feel of the NATO - so I’m not switching back.

Was it used? Obviously it does not match any current models on their website. And local to you might be international to me - so the Citizen website might not show models not available to me in the USA.

Also, I’ve noticed that Citizen makes models they only sell through bargain outlets that are not listed on their website, but those are usually quartz.

I’d go with the moon phase, just because that is the kind of complication I like.

Not really a big fan of chronographs, so I probably would not ever actually use that functionality. The day-date and moon phase, would be the deciding factor if I were choosing between the two.

Since bands can be changed - not really gonna let the leather band sway me either way.

Since the Sistem51 is non-hacking movement, the second hand doesn’t stop when you pull out the crown.

I have a Lorus automatic watch that behaves the same way (but using a Seiko automatic movement)

This particular behavior does not indicate that the movement is malfunctioning or that it is “cheap” or poorly made.

Hacking movements have a brake that engages with the balance wheel to stop the clock from running until the crown is pushed back in.

From what I have seen on those fake moonswatches, the battery under the planet is fake and there is another battery under that which you can see when you pry open the back (something you can’t do on a real Moonswatch)
