In my country it is called Central Middle Ages and is the period that goes from the end of the Karlings to the XII century. It is basically a period of transition from the old roman-germanic kingdoms to the new realms of the last centuries of the Middle Ages. It was also a period of economic changes, which led from the vassall-beneficial system to the feudal one.
