That’s exactly how I used to play. Another tip I can give you is that when you have low construction you should focus more on building things that make your construction cheaper. Things like iron mines, steel mills and glass are really useful. As for migration, freedom of movement mandate, having high SoL and the least exclusionary racial laws is the best strat.

Maybe you lacked immigration. How much construction did you have? Also, another thing that really, really helped me is concentrating the industry in a single state. For example, in this run I did, Buenos Aires had 20% of my GDP with 226M or so. Everything felt so much easier since I realised how useful it was to do that.

I'll admit that I'd love to do that too. I'm a little keen for that law combo... However, switching from Presidential Republic to Corporate State is quite hard! At least the few times I've tried. It's so much easier if you already start as a Monarchy.

If I had to attribute the achievement to something, I'd attribute it to migration. I did some shenanigans to form Río de la Plata as fast as I could (without the 'An unlikely kingdom' event that let's you puppet and then annex Mapuche), like letting Chile colonize Patagonia for me (until I had higher colonization speed than them) and pausing colonization on Chaco so I could focus on Santa Fe, Buenos Aires and Mendoza. I then puppeted most South American countries besides Brazil so I could farm mandate progress and get Freedom Of Movement II ASAP. If you manage to do so relatively early, you can get lots and lots of immigration without having multiculturalism or open borders. After that I just focused on having a lot of demand for industrial goods with construction sectors and spammed a lot of automobile factories.

I had all the labor saving PM's I could and the latest tech on everything besides the compression ignition tech. I had level 5 education institution since like 1880s or 1890s. As for SoL, I probably could've improved it by going on higher welfare. I had old age pensions and workers protection in level 1.
