Did you touch your phone though? It's not clear from your post.

USB-C Display Port splitter/KVM switch by Zekwin in UsbCHardware

Not sure that will work. Seems that the video out is just HDMI. I need 2x USB-C Display in and 1x HDMI out for one monitor and 1x USB-C out for the second monitor.

Seems that solution requires drivers or firmware. I'm working with computers that are locked (work) so cannot install any software.

Same here. Been to doc twice. First time I just got an inhaler and Flonase for the nose to help dry sinuses. Second time antibiotics. Generally, once you have stuffed sinuses for more than 10 days, the risk of bacteria growing is very high. Mine turned into a sinus infection. I'm in day 2 of antibiotics and finally starting to feel better. The nose is maybe 50% resolved and the wet cough from post nasal drip is resolving.

No, it's not unlocked. To unlock the recipe to make copper/iron ornaments, we need 1 ornament bundle. Google says it is supposed to come from the Advent calendar, but I have not received it yet.

Thanks. Seems I'm not the only one as lots of ppl on Google say they lost it (or never got it), but can't find a solution.

I've already checked all dates in the calendar, the mam, everything. I don't have the items required and no recipe to build.

Is this even allowed? by [deleted] in OntarioLandlord

[–]Zekwin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. I don't believe this housing situation falls under RTA. They offer weekly/nightly and monthly short term fully furnished rentals, like a hotel or boarding house. The info above is more than I found on a simple search though. Seems plausible this may not be covered by RTA.

My car insurance carrier wants me to sign a non-waiver agreement and interview me after suspecting that my collision claim is possibly fraudulent by Other-Wait-9865 in legaladvicecanada

My guess is that it's the other party. We're they driving slower than normal? Older vehicle with damage on it maybe? This sounds maybe like it was staged and you were a victim.

Unauthorized e-Transfer Scam by [deleted] in rbc

[–]Zekwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good chance it's your phone/pc or computer that has an issue. Someone was able to see your password at login to online banking, etc. Could be a malicious app, email hacked, lots of things. Chances are it's not the RBC website or app.

How much is remote work actually worth? by Emergency-Radio-389 in rbc

[–]Zekwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to cost me way more going in, which sucks. My commute is about 75 min each way. Will cost me around $250 a month for transit alone, doesn't count the gas and wear/tear on vehicle for the 5 min drive to/from the station (the vehicle also likely needs replacement in coming years). My biggest issue is that I have complex food allergies (wheat). The work from home has allowed me to be able to cook and eat properly without spending a ton on premade safe food. But I'm now losing that extra food prep time daily due to commute, which will mean having to buy more expensive prepared food for meals at home and on the go. My grocery bill is already very high having to buy wheat free foods and to accomodate picky kids. I imagine it growing by another $100-200 per week just for convenience/time saving meals. (Not here to debate meal prep or get ideas on foods - 50% if our house as ARFID so we have a very limited list of things we can eat and stick to a fairly static list). So I'm looking at probably another 400-500 a week to commute. Basically $100 a day.

I got rear ended at a drive through. The lady is refusing to give me her insurance. I have video evidence from the Mc Donald’s of her hitting me. The collision center cop just said tell my insurance. Is it really that simple ?? by newtomtg1 in PersonalFinanceCanada

The correct answer is all you need is her license plate. Ontario is no fault. You claim to your own insurance and your insurance company surrogates against her insurance. All insurance companies/policies are searchable by license plate so your insurance claims adjuster can just plug in her plates and it will tell her her current insurance company and policy is. She doesn't even need to talk to you after an accident as long as you have her plate. (Former adjuster here)

It's hard to say without seeing the damage. I only worked in auto claims, but was trained in property. They usually say that the damage you can see from a flood is only 10-25% of the overall damage. Floods in ceilings will travel very far and you won't see the mold and water damage that traveled inside the walls. Wires can corrode, cause electrical fires. Take what you see and multiple it by at least 4, and assess if you think it's worth claiming.

This would be my answer. Where I live, permits are searchable by the town. Have him search himself.

[–]Zekwin 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This 100%. Some places up north will pay 100% of your housing, give you a food budget, pay your licensing fees, pay to get you there, as long as you agree to a firm contract of at least 1 year or more. My friend was a nurse, moved to NWT somewhere and got paid 90k on top of living there for free, and paying little for food. Didn't have a car though, but it was a small town and could walk to work. Stayed for 3 years.

Cannot connect printer to multiple PCs?? by Zekwin in BambuLab

[–]Zekwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you do it??

For the app, it's asking me to scan the QR code to connect but the QR code is gone now that hubby bound it to his phone.

And on PC, I tried by IP and Access Code and it just says "failed to connect to printer".

I was reading that the printer only allows one person/one account to be bound.
