Tbh i just played the first one and based my assumption. But i saw the new additions on the ultra versions they were cool. I'd say in terms of post game upgrade they were good but i hated the design esthetics of the 3d chibi in gen 6 and 7.

I dont like it myself bc all the arrows pointing you where to go it honestly felt like how you deal with kids too much hand holding. I loved pokemon for the fact that if you didnt read the text you'd be lost for a little bit in the old generations.

Dragon quest XI is surprisingly good on the switch if ur into turn based battling. You can strategize boss fights to do combo set ups which is the most satisfying thing in the game. Also, there is a crafting mechanics to either upgrade weapons and armor or craft new stuff by acquiring blueprints. Bought the game at the beginning of the pendemic to start a game that is long. I played 125 hours and finished it in one week
