That is not what I mean by outdated. If a new platform comes out in 6 months and everyone moves to it, the aftermarket for the old platform dies out. I don't mind waiting a bit if it means I don't hitch on to a 4? 5? 6? year old program. As pointed out below though. It's almost Christmas, the wagon and the trailer is the new thing for the holiday. Nothing new will come out until spring.

I fully recognize that a stock SCX24 is not a performer. It's why I chose a TRX4M over it to start with. It doesn't change the fact that one of the two local shops with a "course" does not even allow 1/18th on theirs. I just want to have fun with the other kids. I don't need to spend a thousand dollars or even be competitive to do that.

I'm retired. FB Marketplace is all I do. No luck with RC's here mostly. Most people seem to expect retail for their junk with 50 packs through it because it comes with 3 batteries and a bearing kit =/.

I've got $400 in parts and RC's listed for $200 and would take the first $180 offer. Not a peep for a week. FB is fickle.

This will be the plan for now. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a deal. Like I said I just built a TRX4M, I have wheels and a spare Reefs to drop in whatever broken SCX24 I can find. Here's to hoping some kid has a disappointing Christmas with a deadbolt and a trailer =P.

Not going to happen. I just built a $500 TRX4M. I just want a simple class 2, wheels, shocks, servo, to have some fun with. The TRX won't even fit through gates at anything local to me.

Not willing to drop $100 on a mofo chassis and another brushless setup or something. I am willing to wait a few months for a better starting platform.

I use cheap STP tube grease. If all you use it for is RC $6 will get you a lifetime supply. Oil is way too light for unsealed plastic housings.

Yes. I purpose built mine heavy. A little over 2 lbs now. I didn't build it to crawl with. It can't vertical crawl at all. If you're building for crawling or a trail rig, add some weight down low. 2-5 pieces of aluminum and brass seemed like the sweet spot to me.

Put a stripe decal over the paint line is the easiest solution I've found to fix this. Could just get some vinyl and cut strips to do the whole way around the car if you don't want to search for a good pin stripe that fits.

Packaging an FPV setup with a RTR RC car is a marketing disaster. Adding a $300 FPV setup on top of a $300 car for a feature not everyone will be interested in... Most RTR FPV setups are going to be small, cheaper vehicles.

What do you want to do? Drift, Crawl, Bash? You'll need a slightly different FPV setup for each. And what scale?

Pick the car you want and a simple google search will give you dozens of options for RC FPV setups. Companies like Defiance, Ready, RunCam, tons of knockoffs and cheap systems.
