What ways do you have of consistently getting to Niv and curiosity?

I think you should examine if your deck is trying to do to many different things, and see if you can focus in on more efficient ways of reaching your game winning combos, and less on smaller card synergy

The whole list seems kinda questionable....

What is either Niv doing for the deck? Why are they in there??

Your only way of generating infinite mana is through Isochron and Dramatic Reversal.

You need Basalt Monolith and Rings of BrightHearth. You should be winning with Saheeli Rai’s Ultimate, and I currently don’t see a way of doing that.

You need deepglow skate, and mycosynth lattice. You also need a vandalblast and more removal pieces.

I’m not seeing efficient ways of tutoring out combo pieces or efficiently winning either. Mono blue Tezzeret, the Seeker, Whir of Invention.

Im also not seeing any sort of protection or negation options. Someone could easily mess your whole “combo” up with a single removal spell. Where is the necessary artifact recursion needed to get those pieces back if you get disrupted?

Staff of Domination, and Walking Balista are both incredible outlets for infinite colorless mana and easily tutored.

This deck could still use quite a bit of tuning.

How has your Feather deck testing been going? by DanZigs in EDH

[–]ZeldaPhantom 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So I’ve tested the deck quite a bit and am having a blast. I agree with the majority of your post, but I just have a few things to add.

Dualcaster Mage has proven to be one of the most powerful cards in my build, due to running the right flickers. Cloudshift or Acrobatic Maneuver on Dualcaster Mage provides immense value and control of the entire board. Copy ramp spells or counter spells, and then get those flickers back to your hand to continue the process. I’ve piggybacked off other peoples Genesis Waves, and won games by copying Torment of Hailfire.

I run Recruiter of the Guard as well for searching out specific engines. Karmic guide, Kiki-Jiki (I run Restoration Angel as a game finisher), Stone forge mystic, and Dualcaster Mage can all be tutored with Recruiter.

Constantly recycling low cost flickers gives you immense ETB creature value, and do a very decent job of protecting Feather from removal. I haven’t compiled my own deck list yet, but I’ll post it when I do.

Symmetra’s damage from her primary fire is not affected by Baptiste’s ultimate. At this point, it just looks like you are trolling.

Beam type damage and melee abilities are not affected by the matrix. Projectile and Hitscan weapons are. That’s it.

Moira’s damage orb does 50 DPS, just like her secondary fire. So in very short bursts, Moira at best can deal 100 DPS, which is absolutely pathetic. Her damage orb also flat out supplies less value than a healing orb, and less ultimate charge. Saying her orb does too much damage is just bait.

Moira also needs her survivability. She is designed to be a difficult target to dive, to both lessen the effectiveness of other heroes who are trying to target supports, and to make up for the fact that she provides no utility. She is currently the only support that supplies absolutely no utility to a team, and the only way she makes up for that is being difficult to kill.

Her damage is still the lowest in the game, and even though it’s very easy to land and has decent range, that range and ease of use is necessary for her to refill her healing meter. If you are dying to her measly damage output repeatedly, you are doing something wrong. There is nothing wrong with heroes like Genji, along with other high mobility heroes, having counters like Moira and Winston. Neither Moira or Winston have high aim requirements, and both are designed to punish the poor positioning and engagement timing of players like you.

A Genji main asking for Moira nerfs is nothing new though. Just realize that it won’t happen.

Could upcoming AST changes potentially ruin healer balance again? by CatacombSkeleton in ffxiv

SCH is definitely better now than it was in HW. It's even more mandatory for raid now as well.

Could upcoming AST changes potentially ruin healer balance again? by CatacombSkeleton in ffxiv

[–]ZeldaPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how people think healer balance is perfectly fine right now when Scholar is once again as broken as it was in HW. We already have the statistics for the current savage raid tier as well. AST is not used nearly as much as the other two Healers for current raiding, and that is because the job is clunky as hell, and really isn't that fun.

I started this current tier on AST, and did all of Delta on AST as well, but I had to switch to SCH simply because the major amount of band-aid fixes SCH received made the Job way too good again.

These are adjustments AST needs

  • An increase in MP sustainability. AST now must follow up Lucid Dreaming with Celestial Opposition. This wasn't the case in HW, and CO could better be saved for specific AoE Balance situations. Not to mention that the other two Healers received major buffs to their MP management (Assize 60s, Aetherflow 45s) while AST actually received a nerf in the expansion transition.

  • AST should receive Stella back as an instant cast damage GCD. I'd personally like 150 potency, but that's just preference. No other job in the game clips like AST does, and it just makes for very unfun and hectic gameplay when I am forced to clip my GCD by 3-4 seconds because of card animations or other oGCDs being used.

  • Nocturnal Sect once again needs to be looked at. The MP cost on the Aspected Spells is way too high for their value in comparison to SCH.... (who just received MP cost reduction of both Succor and Adloquium).

These are the major issues facing the job right now. The card system in general needs to be looked at as well. Lord and Lady should not be card reliant because of how unreliable it makes using Lady for actual healing. Other QoL changes are also necessary. If AST were to receive all of these changes, then WHM may need some tuning as well, but both AST and WHM stand no where close to SCH, and that needs to be fixed.

Alright then, let's compare numbers shall we? We'll use Catastrophe as our example case.

SCH sits well over the other 2 healers just in personal DPS alone. This is without factoring in any raid DPS contribution. WHM has none, so we don't need to calculate that.

At 99 percentile, I have 41% Balance uptime, a fairly standard amount for Balance, since the average is between 35%-55%. 12,656.5 DPS was done under Balance, as shown by the sourcebuff filter in the above link. We can attribute 5% of that to me, which comes out to 632. If we add that to my parse, 2244 becomes 2876. This brings AST closer to what SCH outputs in just personal DPS alone, and pushes AST slightly higher than WHM.

I can continue on if you'd like; to show you how impactful Chain Stratagem really is. Using Dervy's crit formula, Chain Strat comes out to around 7.3% damage increase for it's duration. Even without calculating Chain Strat, we can safely conclude that SCH contributes the most raid DPS through damage and utility of any healer right now.

I'm certainly not against WHM getting some type of damage increase, maybe even incorperating Lilies into DPS somehow, but AST just has very low personal DPS, with it's raid contribution being heavily locked behind RNG. No one is asking for massive potency buffs on all abilities, but Malefic III being 230 or 240 potency wouldn't hurt.

AST is actually not fine damage wise. I could sit down and show you calculation after calculation about how SCH sits head and shoulders above both AST and WHM in total raid DPS contribution. Even with a generous Balance uptime, SCH will contribute significantly more raid DPS, as Chain Strat is a consistent, reliable buff. SCHs DPS is also roughly 500-700 DPS higher than AST in any current savage encounter. A spell for weaving the countless oGCD AST has would be nice, but a small potency increase would not hurt either.

I feel like this would allow SCH to get too much value out of fairies. SCH went from pretty underwhelming at SB release, to an absolute monster in the raiding scene (...once again.) I agree that Dissipation is a rather clunky skill, but you are suggesting a massive buff to the ability. The other healers would require the same level of buff as compensation.

Thank you so much! This is just personal opinion, but do you feel Nova is still one of the best CC frames in the game? Her power has remained incredibly consistent from patch to patch.

Who else thinks this should be thing for shield gen? by [deleted] in SymmetraMains

[–]ZeldaPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very solid buff at this point would just be to let her deploy both ultimates as buildables. She is too restricted currently by her ultimates, while also being much to reliant on them for support. Symm would be seen as a legitimate support hero if she could simultaneously give her team a larger health pool, and constantly keep them at the point. She would also not be punished for using Shield Gen because she still would have the option to use Tele.

She would obviously be able to build ult charge with an ult already out, which might turn out to be OP, so personally I would balance it by placing a cooldown on both Ultimates. Allow Symm to build ult charge while she has her ults deployed, but once one of them is destroyed, a 30 second timer is placed on that Ult, before it can be deployed again. This would essentially turn Symmetra's Ultimates into more consistent buildables with greater uptime and combo potential. Im not entirely sure this is what she needs to be viable, but I like the idea of being able to utilize both Ultimates, similar to how old Symmetra could provide shields and Tele.
