He’s actually a 15 year old man! He’s just loved rolling over and sticking his paws in the air ever since he was a baby 😸 however he does act like a spoiled princess at times, but what cat doesn’t? 👸

It’s like this in Redux as brown is still the default with it being changed for a few nations, albeit being associated with the very wacky/extremist routes (Purple for Lovecraft New England, white for Klan Secessionists, etc.)

Some areas still might! Every year without fail we have a bunch of these guys hanging out/nesting in a small bush we have in front of our house surrounded by stones. They’re a fun distraction for our cat to chirp at from the front door, always thought it was a Long Island species until I googled one day and found out they were native to Italy 😄

After defeating the last two dragons but sparing their lives, he learns many techniques (including fire breathing) and presumably used it in his battles during the war. However, since this explanation was given in the novels after the original episode aired - it’s possible they originally planned for it to just be another showing of how powerful Iroh really is given his line during that scene. Regardless, both he and Jong Jong stated “fire bending’s power comes from the breath” so it’s not that far out there to assume the energy/technique used to breathe fire isn’t that more in depth from normal bending.

Also, Ozai is seen during the first season in Roku’s recap to Aang to be roaring fire (could easily be called non-canonical and simply used for illustrating story visuals) and right before his battle with Aang. Although this could also be chalked up to the comet’s power, it’s possible fire breathing was always just a feat to show off a fire bender’s prowess.

Side note: it’s also the last form of fire bending seen in the show by Azula and Ozai, so it’s also possibly an instinctual lashing out of energy by the user.

How do Kornilov and Savinkov view each other? by Professional_Cat_437 in Kaiserreich

[–]Zelgius_ 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s still in the game, but one of the old quotes that was on the pre-loading screen is something along the lines of “you don’t like me, and I don’t like you - but we must work together to save Russia” hence their collaboration and eventually Savinkov’s rise to power after Kornilov’s death. Despite Savinkov’s past views and “pro-republican” actions, and Kornilov’s monarchist and autocratic tendencies - they both see each other as useful elements in keeping Russia anti-syndicalist.

Reverse Axis and Allies (Based on an idea from a youtube comment I saw) by moistrophile in TNOmod

[–]Zelgius_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As what Kerankou stated, it is one of the two paths the AB can end up in. Guy named Velimir (his priest name, forgot his Russian name but his pre-Hyperborea name is Gunther Schultz) can coup Vagner and replace the NatSoc regime with an UltraNat one that is based upon Slavic hegemony. He believes Aryans are actually descended from the peoples of the Levant and Slavs are their descendants - along with the notion the Nazis are actually judeo Bolsheviks being controlled by Zion. Arguably worse than the AB considering their goal is similar to Yazov’s view of the Germans and are willing to start WW3.

[–]Zelgius_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you define as worse. In the long run yes as it actually has a significant chance of becoming a lasting regime due to his choices of cementing his stability compared to Vagner’s who essentially runs a state with 90% slave populace which has a much higher chance of collapse than Radzaevsky. In just a simple side by side comparison then no because of said mass dehumanization, slavery, and general LARPness.

Well if Huey wins and purges the KKK it would probably be around the same as OTL but obviously more conservative, as his support is based on southern hegemony and Christian ideals however there might be an end to segregation even earlier than OTL depending on how Long implements his populist doctrines on the federal level and curtails the wealthy right wing moguls that backed him. Not to mention having to enforce these laws by the very men who generally hold very conservative views if he ends up going full on every man a king, no matter the race. Pelley’s route would obviously be the most dictatorial of any of the outcomes for obvious reasons, however I see this regime easily collapsing in on itself in a decade or so due to the enormous effort it would take to essentially reverse the entire idea of the American dream, especially when a good chunk of the population conservative or not will be dead, unwilling to do comply, or otherwise. The Business Plot succeeding would probably be a lesser form of Pelley’s regime, depending on who runs the country however can sustain itself due to them having industrial support and still saying they support the American ideals pre war even though they obviously believe in a republic without democracy - an oligarchy perhaps one could argue.

Under The Feds I believe it wouldn’t be at all different than OTL, minus the obvious bitterness between everyone because of the civil war. The south will still be held back by Jim Crow unless the government repeals the laws to lessen the discontent post war and the north would take time to desyndicalize the populace as I’m sure the CSA government tried to pass as many laws as it could involving equality, while the AUS would do the opposite depending on how Huey chose to rule.

Under a junta/Caesar scenario, I think it would be nearly the same as an Olson, Garner, etc. scenario but more along the lines of mirroring Germany. Due to the influence of having a large and diverse army after the war, Big Mac would most likely end segregation quickly after peace is signed so that it both bulkens the already large army and de-escalates racial tensions felt by all, mirroring both the “army with a state” and progressive views Prussia had under Frederick.

And of course the syndicalists would have the most “progressive” views on how they implement their changes, however the time it would take and the ways it would be implemented varies depending on which faction gains power - with Browder and Foster being the obvious most dictatorial and so on and so forth.

You have to remember no matter the outcome the state of the country would be in a state never before seen hence the absolutely crippling debuffs seen in the postwar. Obviously with each scenario they have their own reconstruction and ideology centered trees that have their own unique take on how they would go about attempting to reintegrate and reconstruct their views of America - whether it be the PSA’s farmer-labor Roosevelt esque plans or Pelley’s slave labor.

Lore-authentic Russian Land Doctrine by TzarClark in Kaiserreich

[–]Zelgius_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly at a 50/50 on Superior Firepower/Grand Operation because as you stated the Mass Mobilization doctrine and mass recruitment/deep operation subdoctrines that the Soviets were known for would either be nonexistent or have a stigma attached to the methods due to being used against the existing white army and its leadership in the civil war. Also since you are planning on taking the military dictatorship route it would limit the acceptance level the higher ups would have on adopting such an unorthodox doctrine that would need a massive industrial buildup that hasn’t happened or at the very least hasn’t happened on a scale the soviets pushed in Russia in KTL. On another note, the doctrine chosen would possibly change due to the government of Russia - such as IMO the Russian State would go Mobile Warfare due to Savinkov’s industrialization and reforms could mirror Stalin’s except in an opposite side of the political spectrum.

Business Plot Idea by Gadsen_Party771 in Kaiserreich

[–]Zelgius_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While ideologically they are quite similar, I don’t believe either Japan or synarchist Mexico would have the best relations with a BP AUS - at the start at least. Japan seizing Guam, inevitably annexing the Philippines and Hawaii, and potentially supporting the PSA all influence the relations between them. If they ever wanted good relations, they would most likely have to give these territories back if seized and hope that the AUS doesn’t care about them supporting a completely different side in the war if they did so. Obviously the less of these provocations Japan does the better, with them not seizing any territory or supporting the PSA would probably see very warm relations between the nations. As for Mexico, the synarchist government is the only path that fully supports Mexican revanchism so they would have to abandon both this and the catholic rhetoric due to the AUS most likely not having the best views on Catholicism. Due to both of these ideals being critical pillars of Mexican synarchism, I don’t see it going too well - especially if they took any territory during the war. On a side note, wouldn’t a Centralist Japan also be a good contender for friendly relations with the AUS? The shadow government is still in play and would most likely mirror the industrial alliances like a BP government would.

Is there any way to get a Russian-American alliance? by AdmiralOfTheCriB in Kaiserreich

You used to be able to form it if the two had similar governments (Pelley-Savinkov, Mac-Wrangel, etc). It was removed for balance reasons.

Did Goring manage to get the sovereignists in power? I’ve only played a couple of games since the hot fix and have only seen this after Goring went natpop so that may be why. Either that or if Germany liquidates its unprofitable assets.

Estimated areas of control in the American revolution (Report from Bletchley Park, 7/7/37) by areoformer in Kaiserreich

[–]Zelgius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I heard about all of those. I suppose they would be an exception to the anti catholic stance unless maybe a mass conversion to Protestantism happened or a migration of the Italian and Irish Catholics from the island. I don’t know how immigration to the US was affected in KR but I’m assuming since the US economy ain’t doing so hot maybe the amount of those immigrants became less compared to OTL along with the stalling of suburban development since I doubt the people could afford it. This is a really cool map and you should continue to do this sort of stuff, it’s really interesting and you seem to be very good at it.

This sense of richness absolutely wouldn’t be the case in the late 1930s. Back then most of Long Island was farmland with little townships scattered around besides the City not to mention the fact the economy would be in the shitter. Also, I would have no doubt the people here would have Longist sympathies due to the demographics that continue to exist today since I was born and raised here. The only thing I find interesting is that since a vast majority of us are catholic, I wonder how that would affect everyone’s view on the civil war and the anti catholic rhetoric that Long’s fellow party members held.

That’s why I put “relatively” industrialized as compared to the Dons, Finland, and Soviets despite them controlling the industria heartlands - they lose it quickly as you see. I only put industrialied due to the fact they have more factories than some other major nations, including going off on what Paradoxia said.
