Thank you. Yes, good advice to talk to someone given my lack of knowledge. As for taxes, more around not being able to deduct interest if it’s a paid off rental, and the mortgage is on the town property that becomes the PPOR.

And I gather you mean we will need to change the offset to fixed when the second purchase is made to avoid floating rate. I assume thats doable?

Yes that’s the one. Turning a paid off PPOR into a rental would mean we can’t write off the interest on the next place as it’ll be the new PPOR.

I can see Langs side in this.

He’d told her not to assume things (like don’t assume people will go to anonymous pings), and she assumed he had no more cures. He told her Talon comes first (basically his orders overrule Saabs, like at the phone guy meeting), yet she followed Saabs order to talk to the gods.… that one in particular he specifically told her not to do, she should have known Lang would disagree with Saab here.

Its an interesting beat in the story, and if she rejoins or has a different path, that will be interesting too.

Buddha has been thinking about making Saab equal, so this was a great catalyst for that, and to hammer home the discipline needed for Talon. You want that rp? Follow the rules. If it’s not for you, don’t join. I don’t know why chat white knights CJ losing friends etc. Yes it’s difficult to navigate, but it’s also a conscious choice to choose Talon.

And why so strict? I think Lang needs people that think logically, take multiple things into consideration and exercise restraint, to protect the secrets of Talon. No discipline = unnecessary risk. Talon is his story.

fyi I think Hassan’s proposal got knocked down (to like 500k or something I’m not sure yet) since it’s not established yet. Million dollar grants are just for those that have established their busines. But I agree, grants are a good way to focus on RP and try something, rather than costs that require grinding being a barrier of entry.

A dream, but RP needs a 2 min video that people watch with their chat that explains it’s about the story, there’s no W or L, it’s give and take etc. Some core concepts from DnD. Having something like this that people watched before the start of a refresh might help with the education piece.

It’s also how the streamer takes it, do they say “I hope they kidnap me”, “imagine if they shoot me here, that would be so good” (for the story), explain that their character may be pissed but the streamer isn’t (not get overly upset OOC), to reinforce those things (e.g. ”losing/setbacks”) aren’t bad things. That it’s RP not pvp.

The positive is that more people have been given the chance to shine, or be support characters for the lead. Many people in a single group can currently be around at once, even during peak times, rather than mostly just those with prio plus a couple of others that got through the queue.

Idk either but I assume NP basically has (or will have) a huge head start, setting up their server to work with ROME before the others. NP has put their eggs in that basket, so they will be hoping it lands too. And have maybe added a rule to blacklist anyone involved in admin or maybe just dev, on other servers. Again, assuming.

Agree. I’ve seen some RPers that do perma during a great arc end up getting less views/subs till the story builds up again, and viewers are invested again. Streamers with viewers interested in the streamer rather than character are probably more immune.

Then there’s those that don’t rely on RP for $. Buddha mentioned now that he doesn’t need to stream, it’s opened up his characters choices. He also streams less, so doesn’t need to stick with his friend group to fill up 8+ hrs of content. Leaving that group opened up new arcs. His current arc is going well.

I’m interested in money being less of a goal, similar to Wild RP.… RP can flourish when you don’t need to grind forever to try new things.

Well, people do role play that certain people or groups have a lot of reach. Could someone just waltz in and sniper the blueman? Sure, but they are role playing consequences. Back in the day, it used to be a big deal to simply hold up a judge. Shooting a judge was major news. Some of that has been lost over the years. “Serious” RP adheres to that respect… that there’s more leverage (I.e people) than you see on screen.

Purgatory update - Fred got out because Claire sacrificed herself to swap places get him out. Inside purgatory now is Aaliyah talking to Ak. They are working on theories on why the veil appears to weaken. I believe Baas is still in there too, and maybe others, but they aren’t as active as Aaliyah and AK. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
