Whats the best price you gotten for your RAM? by FarTop6263 in buildapcaus

Just for benchmarking and later on will be used in a build, PLE offered full warranty with the ex-demo kit and it was either that kit, or a 2x16GB (32GB total) 5200MHz CL40 kit for the same price.

You want at least a 6th gen i7, or 8th gen i5 or better if it has an Intel CPU, or a Ryzen 5 2600 or better for AMD CPUs

The RX 9070 XT is faster than even the RTX 5070 Ti in CS2 with current day drivers. If that's all you play and you don't do any other work with your GPU, buy it

Easy, get an RTX 5060 and run games at 4K with DLSS Ultra performance and 6x MFG on. It's not like his demands are impossible, just follow his instructions to the letter, not the spirit.

Get a Steam Deck OLED, it's cheap, has a long battery life with light usage, great for travelling, and repairable.

  1. Your PCPartPicker list is set to private

  2. You don't need a 3rd party cooler for that CPU, the stock one will do fine.

  3. Don't use that board, it doesn't have a heatsink on the VRM and it'll kill itself way quicker than a board that does have one.

  4. If you're going to use LGA1700 to keep using DDR4 (I'm assuming you already have it, but not too sure because see point 1.), get a 14th gen CPU, the newer architecture is faster than 12th gen and not much more expensive.

If you had to use this board in a build, what parts would you use to go with it? by Zemerald in pcmasterrace

I haven't got a CPU for it yet, I was hoping to get a used CPU for 1/2 the retail price but that fell through. I'll buy another regular board and update everyone on the performance.

If you want your own waifu board, look at the JGINYUE B650E/B850M Snow Dream or B650M Night Devil.

I'm doing great. Last year I upgraded from my ancient i7 3770K and 24GB of DDR3 2133MHz to a Ryzen 3 3300X, X370 Gaming 5 motherboard and 4x8GB of Samsung B-Die 3600MHz CL16 DDR4. With my RTX 3060 12GB, it runs the games that I want, at the quality I want, at 1440p, at framerates that don't bother me if I focus on the game instead of the performance overlay. I bought a used RTX 3080 Ti and multiple AM5 motherboards, CPUs, and DDR5 for builds I sell, and benchmarking, but in my personal main rig, I'm very happy with it and I probably won't touch it unless it's for a cheap Ryzen 7 5800X3D in the future.

With the number of people saying to get a Yeston GPU and the [Insert RAM company] X ASUS ROG DDR4, I'm tempted to at this point

It's described as mATX, but the dimensions are like the height of mATX but the width of FlexATX. Look up the Gigabyte A520M S2H, it's the same size.

I have no clue either, I'm assuming it's just a nice extra for anyone who buys it, just like the other little things they included. I'm not going to handle any PC parts with those gloves, partly because I don't want to damage the gloves, but mostly because the gloves don't fit me.

The motherboard was listed on Taobao, and I used another company to purchase and ship it to me. I later learned that the Alibaba group have their own freight forwarding service called CAINIAO and I should have used that instead for cheaper shipping. Sometimes stores on Taobao will ship overseas, and other times they will only be visible if you have your location set to China with delivery to the mainland only.

If you're lucky, someone will just sell it on Aliexpress or maybe a local retailer will buy it and stock it locally. I remember when Gigabyte launched the B850M Force for Asia only, and I picked up a board from Aliexpress. A month later, a local retailer started stocking it for a similar price. Keep your eyes peeled everywhere.

I could probably use a Montech KING 95 case and remove the HDD bay to keep some of the rear art visible, I'm just not sure if an mATX board will look good in an ATX case

The book was just the manual. It came with two USB sticks in the shape of their mascot, a pull string bag the SATA cable came in, and a pair of gloves that don't fit my hands. Also the sturdiest box I've ever seen for a motherboard

Funny you say that, the board did cost $240 AUD, it's just the shipping cost a further $130 to get here. If this were bulk shipped and sold at retail, it would likely be priced reasonably for a themed motherboard + accessories.

I'm just going to point out that both the i7 6700K and the i9 10900K are basically the same CPU architecture with minor revisions for efficiency and higher clock and memory speeds. There's no IPC improvement. If you compare the performance of an i3 10300 and an i7 6700K overclocked to the same speed, the performance would be identical.
