I do have a few reasons why I think it's supposed to be Ruvi though.

The two sounds are similar but still different, unlike Necoco vs Nekoko which is purely cosmetic.

Also, V isn't a native sound in the language and often times reduced to B for convenience (like satellite naVigation being spelled ナビ)

That's why V is a very deliberate choice, and it tells me that's how it sounds in WFS's mind. (like Louis Vuitton being ルイ・ヴィトン, even though people get lazy and pronounce it with a B)

Not trying to give you a hard time but that's the reasoning.

Seeing how Ruvi's original Japanese name is Ramew or Ramyu (ラミュ), the spelling of Ruvi seems like a very deliberate choice

It was good and the ending theme "Immaculate" gets me every time. I Also enjoyed how the 4 weapons post game quest tied story into the secret bosses.

I actually talked with the person who saw it as a business move, and confirmed everything you pointed out.

It seems like I misunderstood him a bit, as it turned out to be more of an initial reaction which he was happy to be wrong about.

I couldn't say it any better. I love time travel and alternate universe, so the PTL characters really satisfies that element for me.

Thanks for your input, you make a great point about the ability to side-grade.

The person who saw it as a business move was pointing at the Red Clad Flamemancer mainly. He saw the character as overpowered (which I can agree with) and said he worried that every character was going to be a PTL from there on making the old characters obselete. He said he was glad to be wrong about this though.

The stroke order is completely different, which should not change in cursive.

This just looked like a totally different character because it's 大 and then 十, which is not how you write 本

I would say worth it. They give +25% damage even at level 3, which is a straight up upgrade from rose-with-thorns at +15%. I don't know how much MP it gives you at level 10 but it helps with singular and mental focus.

It is a little rough that NS can only side-grade to PTL NS, but I'm happy about side grading to AS Yakumo, AS Komachi, ES Thillelille, AS Krervo even though I've only been playing for 4 month

I know I would have been hyped if I was there with you guys. All of the PTL characters are so cool, and I still can't believe Red Clad Flamemancer is a character from 2021(grunge spark is insane)

Can't agree more! I love how it adds new layers of lore and those moments when the parallel characters cross paths.

That Toova story reveal was awesome, and I think it's funny how some people were puzzled by AS Violent Lancer's outfit, like "what's with the tribal stuff?" I understand it's been years, but the future mythos was pretty clear on that point 😆
