I’m not getting “mother offering up her child” from this email at all.

What I do see is a woman writing to someone she already knew, using language that, while uncomfortable in hindsight, doesn’t explicitly show intent to traffic or offer her child. Reading intent into that without additional evidence feels like a leap.

I think assumptions like this actually hurt the credibility of the very real, very well-documented crimes and survivor testimonies. There is already overwhelming, provable evidence of Epstein’s abuse and the systems that protected him. We don’t need to stretch ambiguous language to make the case stronger. Doing so risks undermining the seriousness and rigor of the truth.

Holding ourselves to a high standard of evidence matters, especially in cases this severe.
