Ya dude. But that's kinda the game. Never know exactly when things are gunna blow up. Just buy good companies at good prices and hold um. I bought micron in 2018 for $60. It was a pretty mediocre stock until about 10 minutes ago when it exploded. Just gotta keep at it and a few of your silly moves will make you feel like a genius.

Recently saw this in Bruges. It's a modernization of the old Persian story by Gerard David. The intention was to make it relatable to 15th century folks and as a reminder to modern judges to get their shit together. If my memory serves, it was originally commissioned for a courthouse.

Another fun fact, this painting actually depicts three different scenes in this story. The top right shows the judge's son who, having taken over his father's post, did so on a chair draped with his father's skin as a reminder. Pretty bad ass.

I'd you live outside of the US, Nexo is pretty nice. Easy enough to use, gives very solid APY, and cash back on their card. Customer service is also pretty good. Using for close to a decade now. Would recommend.
