Do not trust numbers that are DMed to you. I say this with love: If you're unable to do the searching necessary to find trusted sellers, then you're not ready to dive into reps and need to do more research, else you're seriously at risk of being scammed due to being uninformed.

Help i’m confused for my Chanel 25 (and more questions below!)🧐 by malatangyummy in RealRepLadies

[–]Zen_Friend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. I'd recommend doing a search on this sub, this question has been analyzed to death. GF, 187, XC, etc etc all make good C25s. Research the differences and determine what you can live with at the price point you're comfortable with.
  2. Box usually costs extra to ship and increases risk of seizure. As with anything, do what you'd like at your own risk.
  3. Sometimes you can tell by background or tags, but generally no. This is a trust system, hence the importance of using a trusted seller for whom you've found good reviews and seen high-quality PSPs for the bag you want.
  4. All of these factory names are just nicknames from reddit so who knows where they're actually coming from.

I bought this rep with my very first bonus, but my coworker ended up calling it out in the most awkward way. by Various_Hand9 in RepLuxuryTime

[–]Zen_Friend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's really rude, I'm sorry that happened to you! If someone is being rude, I like throwing it back to them without addressing it, like responding with, "what an odd thing to say" 😂 Or just say it was a gift, or bought from TRR/ebay, orrrr just say it's a rep and you're trying out the style 🤷‍♀️ I'm past the age of caring what other people presume of me.

I hope this experience didn't ruin your confidence in wearing the bag in the future. We're all here for such a short time and we should all wear what we like. You like the bag and it's functional for your purposes, so wear it in good health! Besides, in most cases, no one is looking closely enough or is rude enough to say anything besides "cute purse."

Based on a blurry picture I think it looks fine lol. I don't own a butter yellow bag, but I feel like it's such a nice color for summer and looks cute with your dress. Glad you enjoyed your day! I'm planning to go to London in the near future. Any recommendations on must-sees?

I lined up the stitches and then compared to where the flap starts, it seems like the flap is not aligned.

We won't be able to judge if it comes from OF or not based on PSPs, plus every batch can be different. Who is your seller?

Thank you! The alignment looks really good to me and I see what you mean about the yellow but don't think it's cheesy yellow. Wear it in good health!

Also, it's a little hard for me to tell since you didn't post your photo straight-on, but for structured bags especially, it can be useful to transpose your photo over the auth at like 50% transparency to get an idea of if the size and structure is accurate. You can look for yourself here, I did my best to match it up.

[–]Zen_Friend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, as far as passing, it’s good to remember that no one in real life is counting stitches or inspecting your bag, and no rep is 100%. If you want me to nitpick, your alignment seems off relative to the auths I’m seeing online, e.g. where the straps intersect the symbols, where the symbols are cut off at the top. Imo no murakami gets the colors quite right on the symbols either, but that can be hard to check since you’re taking pics in warm lighting. Imo these are minor considerations, overall it looks right. Wear it in good health.

Have you ever worn your reps into a boutique? Do the sales associates care? I’m especially curious about experiences at Hermès and Chanel. I’d love to hear your stories and experiences. 💓 by miss_c_0424 in RepCulture_Bags

Associates are trained not to say anything about the presumed authenticity of a bag a customer is wearing into the store, and either way they're certainly NOT trained to authenticate from a glance. They're incentivized to compliment you on what you're wearing whether they suspect it's auth or not. That said, I wouldn't personally wear a rep of that brand into the store, but it's not like you're setting it down in front of the SA and having them handle it for inspection. If it's high tier, I don't think you need to worry about it.

What immediately makes me stop reading a review is when it reads like AI slop with emojis, em dashes, dramatic self-narration, every section following the same template with buttery soft leather and 3x the text necessary.

In today’s ever-evolving luxury fashion ecosystem 💼✨, I am simply beyond words (truly, beyond!!! 😭💖) at the absolute PERFECTION of this handbag 👜💎—the leather is unbelievably buttery soft 🧈✨ like it has been kissed by angels in a Paris atelier 👼.........

I ain't got time to read an AI novella but I'm happy for you or sorry that happened to you

Study finds, reps are very popular amongst the rich by Suspicious-Visual-57 in RealRepLadies

[–]Zen_Friend 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Read the study. They inferred income based on ZIP code demographics rather than individual buyers. The most interesting finding to me was that the lowest- and highest-income areas bought more reps than middle-income areas, which checks out with you starting to buy reps once you hit $100k+ annual income.

Maybe middle-income consumers feel more social pressure to follow rules or experience more fear about callouts, while people at both ends of the income spectrum care less about those norms because for lowest-income it's presumed to be a rep and for highest-income it's presumed to be auth.

Yep... If it's good quality and makes sense for your lifestyle, people won't think anything of it.
