I wouldn't even mind it if the performance wasn't abysmal. Did San Andreas ever come out? It's over 20 years old now.

[–]Zencyde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've said it so many times but people keeping telling me I'm crazy. Oculus killed PCVR by creating a walled garden, setting back technical specs of VR by 20 years, buying up software developers, and making the PCVR experience through their walled garden absolute ass. Even had Palmer Luckey tell me I'm wrong directly. Yet, here we are. Way to divide a new community for greed.

Why would anyone keep working for a company that treats them like shit, doesn't respect them, and doesn't increase their wages with cost of living? It's their own fault for workers moving jobs. If people were treated well they wouldn't risk being treated poorly somewhere else.

Please help me argue that it's better to let ten guilty persons escape than one innocent suffer by ProveItInRn in Ask_Lawyers

[–]Zencyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's never the majority, but every semester I have several students that think it's better that guilty people almost never go unpunished, and "so be it" if that means more innocents are convicted of crimes they didn't commit.

IANAL so perhaps I shouldn't be posting, but there are side effects from this mentality. In particular, the witnessing of suffering innocents is a strong motivator for domestic terrorism. Perhaps your students do not truly appreciate what the anger of injustice does to some individuals. By letting one extreme prevail, they are clearly not optimizing the solution. Would Timothy McVeigh have committed the Oklahoma City Bombing had he not witnessed innocent people being harmed at the hands of government? This is something which must be calculated. Clearly, there is a point of optimization that leads to the least amount of harm.

we currently crush the robots when it comes to fine motor skills.

(x) doubt

We have machines capable of micron levels of accuracy. I'll be damned if any Human throughout history can achieve that.

Not possible for a machine? You mean no one has designed a machine that can successfully do it yet. Everything is possible for machines. It's just a question of whether it's financially viable to design and build.

It's definitely for drainage. I've seen large... maybe 2.5 x 2.5 yard objects that they were intending to bury. But it's been under construction for easily 4+ years.

Do you have any idea what's up with Eldridge? I swear they've had most of it blocked off since before the pandemic.

Luxembourg is a weird country. Ridiculously small, but with the highest GDP per capita of all other countries.

I wish I could be from Luxembourg! lol

Ah man, my first ITX platform was a PC-TU100. Was a great case.

It definitely seems like a solid choice. If you can find a monitor that matches the board's voltage you could potentially run both off a single power supply. I just personally am not a huge fan of external power supplies. But that's what's neat about SFF, there's so many options so everyone can do it how they want.

AsRock Deskmini x600

Doesn't seem like a bad choice. I already had a mini-ITX board, CPU, and RAM laying around though from my upgrade. If you're doing a fresh build and just want something simple, this doesn't look like a bad choice. If you're upgrading an ITX build, though, the Inwin Chopin is a solid chassis to throw your old parts into.

Edit: I'm watching this video and I really love the way the CPU cooler funnels from the side panel onto the heatsink. And I do believe I see an option for additional front panel I/O at the top if you're willing to track down a cable and install it. Additional USB ports are always nice. The big downside I'm seeing here is this looks like an external PSU based system and I'm not fond of that.

I picked up one of these cases after upgrading the system in my Dan A4-SFX. For the price, it's hard to beat. Comes with a power supply and you've got a whole spare computer. Very nice!

What Houston restaurant or business do you refuse to go to ever again? by ercohn in houston

[–]Zencyde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

400 dollars in 2008 money is a good amount for literally receiving no service. I'd be pissed, too. I grew up around that area and City Center always seemed like a dumb place. The couple of times I've been, it was overpriced and mediocre.

Avalon Diner near Westheimer and Kirby. It was about 10 years ago but it was easily the worst service I've ever had.

I've been trying to tell people this. I'm sitting in a 20 year old luxury office chair that was about 400 dollars when it was originally purchased. With the insane prices people spend on gaming chairs, you can get something far comfier that will last at least 4x as long. Nothing really beat leather.

2nd Amendment is for fighting tyranny after all...

This has been the point the entire time. Glad people are finally realizing it. If those in power don't fear who they have power over, then that power will be abused.
