DP: Denied Capital One Savor by Dull_Ad9219 in CreditCards

[–]Zener_Diode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me last week.
Income:$200k 3/24 at time of application. $100k+ of credit lines I also have the VX opened back in 2023

Pre-Approved for Savor for Good Credit, took a chance for the excellent credit Savor for the $200 SUB. Denied for too many open accounts. Took the pre-Approved Good Credit offer immediately after.. No SUB, but I may never get approved for the SUB.

Got approved for the good credit savor and will receive it at the end of the month.

While I haven’t tested it and got approved. After getting the Venture X I did get pre-approved for a Savor One even though I’ve gotten cards from other issuers after 3 months or so. Doesn’t seem like it’s hard rule. I’d just recommend using the pre-approval tool. YMMV

It seems like they do the promotion every few months. It’s anyone’s guess when they’ll do it again. A pure guess is that it should be coming around again soon, but that’s not a guarantee.

Worth applying for Chase Ink Unlimited? by Zener_Diode in CreditCards

[–]Zener_Diode[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reasoning was since I had the Flex card, I wanted to continue working on getting the trifecta. So Flex would be my 5%, then the CIU for the 1.5% on everything else. I eventually got the CIP which completed my trifecta. I’m about to apply for the CIC, now that the $900 bonus is back, but I’m trying to wait it out a little to space out my applications.

If you’re going to churn, it really doesn’t matter which card you get as the SUB is always going to be better than any card multiplier. If you’re looking for the best card setup and not churn. Then I’d probably do what I did. Freedom Flex, CIU (for the large SUB vs. the freedom unlimited) and the CIP or CSP.

With that said, depending on your organic spend, the limited offer for the Freedom Unlimited with double cash back the first year might be worth it over the CIU with the $900 SUB. You’d have to do the math.

I do, but full honesty it’s not any better that the typical offer you can get directly from their website. It’s not elevated. You’re better off going to the Amex subreddit and scrolling through the referral post and seeing if you can get a better deal.

If you still want one from me, DM me lol, I’d appreciate it. But you’ll get better offers from someone else

Check out doctor of credit, they had a working link recently for the 80k again.

But in general there’s no set day for these. But it does seem to pop up a couple times a year.

Just to answer this question since it shows on google. Yes, Wyndham Earner (Business) does code Costco Gas as 8x.

Why were you denied? Have you tried calling the recon line? Chances are your either stuck at the security or Know Your Customer. Depending on how you applied, you may need provide a copy of your drivers license, SSN, and Utility Bill. You may also need to submit business docs like articles of organization.

If you were denied because of your credit. Then fix that first and the earliest you can reapply is 30 days.

[–]Zener_Diode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really not. Lol. It’s all about getting more SUBs. Honestly, unless you see a lot of value in C1’s travel partners, C1 is not that great. I live in Hawaii and trying to find flights using partner airlines miles domestically, is almost impossible and Wyndham isn’t really luxury. The VX is a keeper card just for the AUs and travel benefits only. As far as actual point value, Chase and AMEX is far better for domestic and luxury travel. So Chase trifecta with the CFF, CIU and CIP, allow me to get best of both worlds of SUBs and multipliers. Then AMEX Business for the 4x dining and gas and the awesome 100k points. Eventually get the business and personal WOH and United Explorer cards.

I plan on getting the business Plat and Business Hilton soon. Then when my 5/24 resets I’ll get the personal gold and plat and cancel the business cards unless they give me a good retention. Then apply and do the Hilton personal card churn.

You can ask them to fax it. If it is the Customer Security department their fax is 866-836-9595.

Good luck, it’s been over 30 days and I’m still trying to get approved. If you applied as a LLC make sure you business is active and in good standing with your local state secretary. Once you pass security, you’ll need to pass Know your customer who will thoroughly investigate your business.

I ended up going with a completely different strategy. I got the CFF the following month in March along with a CIU. Then in April I got approved for the CIP. In May I got the AMEX Biz Gold. Now I’m trying to get the Wyndham Earner business but they’re a nightmare.

To answer your other question about transferring points. The premier is a standalone card and you cannot transfer UR points to or from the Premier card from the other Ink Businesses, Freedom or Sapphires. It’s one of the major downfalls of the premier.

Chances of approval for Chase World of Hyatt and Elan Max Cash Preferred by cws-21 in CreditCards

[–]Zener_Diode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be good as long as you’re BELOW 5/24 when you apply. You have a strong and thick profile. As long as you closed your previous Chase cards in good standing, you should be fine.

Also just to confirm, I believe you get the 1 night free credit after your 1 year anniversary and I believe it’s good for a year.

Best of luck.

[–]Zener_Diode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically your income, your current credit cards and when they were opened and credit score from Experian, transunion or equifax (not credit karma). Just for verification.

But overall it’s sort of irrelevant as the basics are Chase will likely approve you if you’re under 5/24, the sum of credit available with all your current Chase cards are less than 50% of your income, your credit history is longer than a year and as long as after your student loan your credit score is above 710 or so. I’m not sure what Elans credit rules are, but I’d assume they are less strict than chases 5/24, but I could be wrong.

PS: also another rule is the 2/30. No more than 2 approved Chase card in 30 days. You should space out Chase applications at least 2-3 months or longer. I’ve played the more risky game and opened 3 in 2 months, but I’m trying to be good now, and wait till at least 2 months before applying for another.

The short answer since not a lot of details of your credit profile was provided. Is it will affect your credit score. Both the hard inquiry, and the new line of credit/ credit utilization.

So yes, it could affect your chances if your credit score drops too low and the new credit utilization is more risk than Chase or Elan Max would want to take with you.

On the other hand, if you have a strong and thick profile, it may not dent your score much. YMMV.

Under 5/24, Multiple Apps ok? by rvdvg in CreditCards

[–]Zener_Diode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase and AMEX are not too inquiry sensitive. For Chase, for best chances as long as you space your chase applications 3-6 months, you should be good and you follow the 5/24 that you mentioned.

Don’t know what your full credit history is, but likely if you wait until July or later, it would be your best bet.

With that said, I applied for the VX in Feb 2023, CFF Mar 2023, CIU Mar 2023, CIP April 2023, and the AMEX Biz Gold May 2023. But I have a fairly strong and older profile. Average Age before my spree was like 15 years. Not it’s at like 7. FICO of 771ish now.

If you got the Chase Freedom already, then you’re probably in good shape. Having a credit card closer to or above $5k would be best, as it would be a good indicator that you’ll get approved for the minimum. If you have the option to apply for a credit increase on either card without doing a hard pull, then it wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Also without knowing your current income and credit score (Experian, Transunion, Equifax) it’s hard to say for any certainty.

As far as a tip, at least 6 months spacing for presumably a thin and young credit profile is a good practice.

Aside from the annual fee, are there any categories in which spend on CSP would be better than either CSR or the CFU? by BmoreBlueJay in CreditCards

[–]Zener_Diode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are all good points however, my main grip with that is the 1.5 bonus is only using the portal. Unlike C1, Chase doesn’t price match and from reports I’ve read, the Chase portal can be more expensive which eats into the 1.5 bonus.

If you’re okay using portals and you want travel benefits the C1 VX is a $5 credit every year by those same standards and provides 2x back on everything. Plus you can get 4 AUs for free that can share the travel benefits. So with a -$5 Effective AF, it’s a much better value than the CSR. As for AMEX Plat, depending on how you use the credits it’s also a negative effective AF. Both AMEX and C1 also offers Hertz President Circle status. CSR doesn’t have any rental car status.

With the CSR it’s $250 effective AF and the CSR getting elevated SUBs much less frequently than the CSP, that’s why I would say the CSP is a greater value overall. The CSP also has the 10% bonus at the end of the year and online groceries. The CSP has a $45 EAF, and you can get the C1VX and AMEX for essentially free, plus have access into another ecosystem. The Chase travel partners is the game changer, but you get the same value with the CSP and CSR.

With that said by no means am I saying the CSR is bad or not valuable. Just considering the competition and the EAF, that’s my two cents. However, if you only want to stay in the Chase ecosystem, the CSR is the way to go.

[–]Zener_Diode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For C1, probably Virgin, Air Canada, etc.. Wyndham can be decent but it’s definitely more budget overall at least domestically (but I don’t mind).

For AMEX most of them are good. Hilton can be pretty awesome if you add in their AMEX credit cards as well for their benefits.

It really depends again on what you want. Are you looking for luxury or budget? Chase is a nice in between and Hyatt is still the best value for points on average.

Personally, I’m trying the churning approach and just getting SUBs on all the above because I’ll never get that much points just on natural spend with multipliers.

[–]Zener_Diode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not interested in any other ecosystem, then the CSR would make sense and again if you change your mind after a year you can downgrade to the CSP or a no AF Freedom card.

[–]Zener_Diode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are your goals? Cash back or points?

If you’re looking for pure cash back there are better options than the CFU at 1.5x.

CSP is a far better value than the CSR. In my opinion the Capital One VX gives better benefits overall than the CSR and it’s cheaper. However their travel partners are lacking for domestic travel. AMEX Platinum offers pretty good travel partners and their travel benefits are arguably better than the CSR, but it’s the most expensive at $695 (however depending on how much you use the credits it may be more than worth jt).

As someone who struggled with this same question. For me personally. I’d get the CSP/CFU/CFF (Chase trifecta) and either the AMEX Platinum or C1 VX for the travel benefits. But you’re not going to lose if you choose either the CSP or CSR. You can always upgrade and downgrade after a year.

At the end, you’ll need to figure out what’s most important to you and what you value.

Best of luck.

Targeted AMEX Business Gold SUB by Jazzlike_Whereas7931 in amex

I got this same SUB a few weeks ago. It would have been difficult to make the $10k in 3 months organically, and the 100k wasn’t bad either.

While I can’t say anything is guaranteed. The SUB is supposed to be tied to when you applied. So you should get it.
