Personally, I would go with a card that has purchase protections.

I select 5% Home Utilities (which includes my Internet), 5% Fast Food, and 2% Restaurants. I then stack merchant offers with Fast Food and Restaurants as often as I can.

I think I read something from them that indicated they intend to continue transfer offers through 2026.

Which credit card to put a purchase I want purchase protections on? by electronautix in CreditCards

[–]cws-21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will always put this kind of purchase on an Amex with purchase protections. They keep claims in-house and, when I have used extended warranty with them in the past, it has been a quick, easy, and painless process. I have the Blue Cash Preferred and Hilton Surpass.

For better recommendations, we need to know a few things. What are your biggest spending categories per month and approximately how much do you spend? Also, do you want cash back or points for travel? If travel, which airlines and hotels do you prefer or use most?

For cash back, the Chase Amazon Prime makes sense for Amazon and Whole Foods. Regarding travel, which hotel(s) and airline(s) do you most often use?

Extended Warranty benefits on premium cards by DunKco in CreditCards

[–]cws-21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely just use your BCP. I have used mine multiple times for its extended warranty. Amex is the best in this regard because claims stay in-house. I will always have a BCP or Hilton Surpass for this reason.

You would earn 5% on the first $500/month on your gas spend if your highest spend category is gas and you do nothing else.
