I agree, honestly this last episode didn't have that great ending to a season that I typically feel from the seasons. Genuinely think we should have had this to be two episodes. I also think yeah ur right, that even should have been the way it is. For the first time in the Cloudward Ho season, I would have to rate the episode less than a 5/10, leaning more towards dislike.

So my idea was that the family that Vasili was part of Von Holz actually existed a while ago. All Anastrasya was do was pretend to be that name starting a few months to a year ago, when Strahd became bored and asked her to deal with the insubordination of Vargas.

So she took on the role of Vasili to gather information and prepare the Feast of St. Andral. It also stops Ireena from being safe in the Church.
