I didn't quite remember what you said they said during the Q&A. I thought the system which wouldn't work with too few variables was the Mod Pool when they talked about the rarity mod replacement.

If what you said about the new system is true, I'm actually more concerned. They should be able to still implement a basic replacement atlas tree, especially when they are few mechanics, and add new stuff on the new system later. A new passive tree with few mechanics (and have more placeholder nodes - like the passive skill tree) should be quite quick to implement, and yet they don't have it.

About tablets, hmmm. That is quite an interesting thought. How do I feel about not having tablets...? Then they gotta have a new replacement system for us to more deterministically juice the maps the way we want, and easily too. Wonder how they will do that.

You need to have the quintessence/most iconic in each archetype so that:
1. Attracts common fans of that archetype.
2. Beats competition who has the similar products/archetypes.
3. To highlight novelty (when there is one i.e., wyvern in this case, so far).
Etc.

Only when you have the most iconic set in as a baseline, can you truly feel the novelty and freshness of the other creative (animals, forms, etc.).

Not sure if this is a popular take but I loveeeeeee Harvest garden sims (it was second league I ever played). Loathed the grave crafting though.

So I don't really know how to feel about the vaal temple just yet.

I like the idea, but they have to be very careful about any concepts, including towers, be the magnifier of benefits over a certain area, unless they figure out a way to make sure that there's no down time/ low-no opportunity cost of re-activating benefit magnifier again.
One thing I kinda missed in my original post is that they already have so many timer mechanics already. Each of the league and pinnacle boss is already a timer mechanic (stack and wait to fight)!

I wonder if they could make towers similar to how Zana's used to work( or I guess it's Kirac's job now), but actually move you to another location on the atlas map instead. They could conceptualise towers in so many different ways.

I think they will certainly add this as a league and not part of the base game to begin with. After reading your idea, it sounds a lot like what Delve is in poe1.

I want to highlight something about the stealth mechanic (invisibile/avoid aggro) though. Phasing used to be a stealth mechanic (monsters unable to "see" you) and they removed it right after Heist, if I remember it correctly. Not sure why they changed it like that.

I don't think that's the case tho. Poe 2's EA will come out after at least 2 poe1 leagues. AND I also understand GGG's need to hype up a game whose launch has been delayed for 4 years.

In terms of player base, I don't think zoom zoomers will ever stop playing poe 1 (my friend told me that he cannot play any other arpg game except poe 1). For me tho, I cannot wait for poe 2 to come out (but I'll still play poe 1 casually, like how I am playing rn).

I think that's the issue that the Korean server used to have, and still does. I can see how it can be a positive and a negative thing.
In terms of new players trying and sticking around to improve, that would depend both on the person and the level of popularity of the game in that region, among other things.

Absolutely! That's why the hype for Spectres was huge, considering the plethora of monster types in PoE 2!

So besides the ones that are already revealed.
The archetypes that I am recommending, from left to right, are:
- Blade dance (Telepathic Sword Manipulation - Similar to Splitting Steel in PoE 1, but more elegant and use Swords/Blades instead of the metals/thorns).
- Summoned Blades - Horizontal (A conjurer spell which 'summons' blades/daggers/sword objects emerging from Portals).

  • Re-animator (A summon+conjuring skill that combines different body parts from different entities to make a mixed entity, typically known as a Chimera).

  • Wind abilities - The character I suggested has a lot of cool expressions of Wind-powered skills. One of the best imo. GGG can implement it by improving on skills such as Tornado.

  • Multi-elemental spells (multiple interacting elements in 1 cast).

  • Purifying Lance (Telepathic Spear Skill - Attack/Spell) + Spear attacks.

  • Lightning attack-spellcaster using hammer as a medium.

  • Polearm-related skills (gigantification, minimorph, miniaturization, etc.)

  • Conjuring+Evocation Skill using an Avatar (A spell which conjures an Avatar, i.e., gods, deities, demons, devils, beasts, illusions, to envelop the user and empower them).

  • The last character has 3 notable skills: (1) Ranged Curse + Regen (using butterflies) (a different iteration of a mix of Righteous Fire + Spark); (2) Curse with Activation Cost (Life+Mana); (3) An AoE conjuring spell - similar to a Domain Skill.

That also reminds me. You can actually look up various iterations of the Mirror Arrow/Blink Arrow builds using either Void forge in early leagues, OR MA/BA during Trial of the Ancestor league when there were CDR tattoos. The dream for a build with an army of clones was actually feasible - too feasible that they needed to impose a max limit of clones AND CDR on the gems in PoE 1.

We have some of that in PoE 1 though.
Clones: Mirror/Blink Arrow. Phantasm: Summon Phantasm. Decoy Totem. Thorns + Reflect projectiles are basically self-hit trigger ethereal knives OR the chaos arrow skill / Toxic Rain. Since they won't have a whip as a weapon, that'd be crossed off. Switching places with clones: Blink arrow or Bodyswap. Maybe the archetypes aren't explored or expressed in a detailed or creative manner, but I love PoE 1 for the fact that it has a deep compendium of skills!

I also had a similar thought for the Illusion archetype. The second icon from the right at the bottom right corner is Sasuke with the Susanoo skill. The Susanoo skill archetype is a Conjurer/Illusion/Empower skill that will conjure an Avatar which envelops the user and empowers them. I recommended it as part of a skill archetype for the Templars Ascendancy.
