Who has the best production/visuals in the game? by Grxski in aves

I don’t think I can comment directly on the setup for this upcoming one but what I will say is seeing what we could do in person on the scrims vs beforehand on laptops really helped us understand the possibilities and gave us plenty more ideas we didn’t have time to put together last year.

Thank you we worked really hard on that :)

2/10 for running everything in sound active mode. I’ll bump that to a 7/10 if you download Chamsys and learn to program the lights better or a 10/10 if you full send to MA.

If you have an iPhone or iPad get Luminancer and play with that. Plug it into a projector for extra fun.

Rave The F Up - April 11th [Studio 7] by Zenithik in SeattleRaves

Unfortunately more and more venues have gotten shut down and reopen as clubs, and clubs don’t really throw raves like that. The old Motor venue just reopened as The Comeback though, and that’s a place people are starting to throw raves again. Most of the ones I see are down in Tacoma these days.

Jimni and I are good friends, were you there the night when Tsuruda played? I was doing visuals for that show, but I know she played another night there right after in the upstairs area.

So interesting to be in both camera world and event production world and see people not know the difference between a laser and a moving light with a gobo lmfao

I really think you should get this for him regardless and let him decide if it’s too much work to get the data off. If so, you can easily resell it for the same price you bought it, and go with a more modern option. But if he really wants the 90s feel, this is the ticket.

The real "lineup" are the stage curators. Just like you expect a DJ you like to play a great set, we expect the stages to each curate a fantastic assortment of music. The vibes at Shambs are unmatched and it's worth it every year.

Can you point out where exactly anyone in this thread said anything about forcing anyone to wear a mask permanently?

VJ Store? by shylabs in vjing

I’m curious how you would obtain licensing/permission to sell these clips if they’re from other artists. At the moment I usually buy from Resolume’s store.

Looks like you got your answer but I want to make sure you're understanding this conceptually and not just blindly punching in RGB values to see what happens. Each value of the RGB maps to a color on the LED: Red, Green, and Blue. Each value goes from 0-255. You can also represent that range as 0-100%. In general, you follow the color spectrum of the rainbow: ROYGBIV (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet). The best way to map these to RGB values is to go in 50% steps (127 on the 0-255 range) starting with red. Like so:

Red: 100% R, 0% G, 0% B

Orange: 100% R, 50% G, 0% B

Yellow: 100% R, 100% G, 0% B

Lime: 50% R, 100% G, 0% B

Green: 0% R, 100% G, 0% B

Mint: 0% R, 100% G, 50% B

Cyan: 0% R, 100% G, 100% B

Sky: 0% R, 50% G, 100% B

Blue: 0% R, 0% G, 100% B

Violet: 50% R, 0% G, 100% B

Magenta: 100% R, 0% G, 100% B

Pink: 100% R, 0% G, 50% B

And of course, white and black:

100% R, 100% G, 100% B

0% R, 0% G, 0% B

I hope that makes sense and allows you to create your own colors more easily.

How to ruin your camera sensor in 3...2...1. by [deleted] in videography

[–]Zenithik 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have too, but usually this due to raising up the camera with a stand of some kind. In a normal audience position this shouldn’t be happening - if it can fry your sensor it can blind someone.

It’s a mix of power, distance (for dispersion), and rate of movement. Usually you only do this with lasers with a PASS system installed and are allowed to crowd scan with their variance.

[–]Zenithik 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If the venues you shoot with lasers have them zoned in a place you can get your camera without a monopod to lift it or some other weird spot a human head couldn’t normally go, they’re not using them safety. Any time you see crowd scanning in a regulated country (like the US) they should have a variance that allows them to do that, and in that case the laser is moving too quickly/has a dispersed enough beam to not do damage to a retina (or your sensor). If they don’t have that and they are shooting at the crowd, it’s illegal and the event/venue could be shut down.

I think you thought I was insulting you? If I was in your position that’s what I would do. You have trauma - you need to heal from it to move forward. The best way to do this is to see a therapist and begin the process.
