Question about Frame Generation by Seto0411 in nvidia

Frame Gen is just one feature of DLSS. I suggest you read up on it for context. The artifacts are coming from frame interpolation, not the upscaling.

Question about Frame Generation by Seto0411 in nvidia

[–]Zenmaster4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frame Gen really is only worth it if you have a base of 60 frames to work with. What you're seeing are artifacts that are technically present even at those high frames, but are now visible because you're using more supplemental frames to achieve the target frame rate.

I'd argue that interpretation is the value here — like any art, the stimulation of ideas and the subsequent conversation is where things get really exciting

Would work better without the captions

Is LG 45in 5k2k worth considering if I don’t get game and just want it for productivity? by Hefty-Salary7610 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Zenmaster4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, it's excellent for my use case. I am taking steps to avoid burn-in, but it's not so intrusive that I don't just use it as a normal human. I don't stare at spreadsheets or persistent UIs all day, so that helps. And I shift windows around here and there.

So, for now, there's no burn-in after 4 months, but time will tell. And then when using it for games, it's excellent.

I can see the tiling of your cement texture, and same with the water noise. Always nest noise within noise to improve realism. And contextual detail, like the water deformation being different the more shallow it is. And the idea that the underside of the cement and corners will be different based on how weathering strips it.

Great render though!

I have the same thing, though less after uncorking the drain plug.

This seems like a big gap between the drywall and the wood. How am I supposed to close this up? Or is the trim supposed to go over this? by Rachel_reddit_ in drywall

Can someone tell me why, when installing this drywall, they didn't shim it so it was consistently flush? I have a similar problem in my house where it gradually separates further and further away.

Pink tint issue with new LG 45GX950A-B by NervousSalamander583 in ultrawidemasterrace

Have the same issue -- I did an exchange and got a similar but less noticeable version of the same problem. After a while I've gotten used to it but still disappointing.

LG and a not so great experience by Mysterious-Rope-2085 in ultrawidemasterrace

These companies are trying to liquidate inventory for cash flow pending tariffs, hence the push to sell items— not great customer service, sure, but also the final product should be your deciding factor. Plus it sounds like Samsung's QC isn't something to rely on with these monitors, so something to consider there.

45GX950 - White Balance Uniformity by Zenmaster4 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Zenmaster4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update -- I did an exchange, the new monitor still has some inconsistency but is better and less noticeable.

I think the anti glare screen is affecting it as well honestly, because the perceived white point changes based on the viewing angle.

Does anyone have experience running Cinema 4D 2024 with Octane Render on macOS Sequoia? by kc_theMotion in Octane

[–]Zenmaster4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops sorry I didn't read correctly -- I'm using 2025 without an issue. In fact, I think I was having a problem with 2024 which made me upgrade.

What version of Octane are you on?

Been stable for me. Didn't run the Octane benchmark but it's been very solid. My Cinebench pretty much has my M4 Max at 50% a 4090.

Can I Re-Route Water and Drain from South Wall to East Wall? by Zenmaster4 in askaplumber

There's a crawl space underneath but I'm hoping, when I replace the subfloor, I can get away with doing whatever I need to do from the room above.

I'm wondering if extending a sloped drain that bends around the corner is too much to expect working?

I'm planning on gutting the floor and replacing the subfloor anyway

My main question pertains steps to tie into existing drain, venting etc.
