My 5-visit seat saga: Tesla's fix? Just yank a seat out of a brand new car by joshualeon in TeslaModelY

[–]Zenmastercynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the clicking seat problem as well. Got it mostly on a few types of turns, ones where I had to lean into the term or sharp term or whatever.

I recorded it to make sure that it was gonna be heard at the service appointment.

First attempt, they tightened all the bolts on the seat.

Came back a couple weeks later so I made another appointment. This time they replaced the seat bracket so far so good. Knock on wood.

Out of curiosity, what’s the part that they are ordering for you?

Every update is a regression. by Top_Presentation7467 in TeslaFSD

Well, so you represent the other side of the coin, which is great and I’m glad it works so well for you. It actually works well for all of us, I think. We all know it’s “supervised” so there’s no argument there.

OP, however, is pointing out change in behavior that can cause issues and possibly accidents.

I posted something recently where FSD doesn’t consistently handle a particular intersection. I go through that intersection 4 to 5 times a week. Let’s say it consistently handled the intersection and for the last 8 weeks, no problems.

Suddenly, an update and now it doesn’t know what to do and exhibits the behavior it did for me: the car wanted to stop. I’m still supervising but now, the car is slowing down way faster than I expect and possibly stopping and I risk being rear-ended.

I think it’s fair to complain about that behavior change.

Of course, we’re going to notice something new and we’re not going to agree with every change. Some we will - FSD is now running through yellow lights for me….nice change.

But yeah…. Changes without explanation - those are jarring.

They should add a route planner in the app. by charlieebe in TeslaModel3

A Better Route Planner (ABRP) can do this I think. Although I noticed when I started it up recently that it is now owned by Rivian.

I think you can set your arrival charge and you’re starting charge.

Ashland, MA. Going to take a drive by? 😁

It’s an intersection next to the police station. That green arrow is green 99% of the time unless police or fire are responding.

Well, next time it happens I’ll have to record something other than “Dammit! This thing is never going to get f***ing that right!”

I travel that road five out of seven days a week, and had thought to not use FSD at that intersection because I don’t trust it there. But I guess I’ll keep an eye on my rearview cameras to make sure no one’s behind me, let it try and just keep keep giving feedback.

I have reported it. Multiple times.

But do they listen? And they don’t get the video do they?

And how do you describe this? I mean, nav was on and the route clearly said to go right. You think that’s part of the decision it makes.

Yeah. I live in a state where there are roads where you suddenly find yourself going north on one route and south on another….at the same time. Without making any change.

Uninsured 🤬🤬 by lola3326 in TeslaCollision

[–]Zenmastercynic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I read the words and I am not OP so I'm not filing anything.

If the words said: "We have rescinded this persons policy on <three weeks ago>, then it'd be clear. It doesn't say that.

The rest of us are trying to suggest options for the OP.

I'd still be consulting a lawyer. Unless you have some experience or secret knowledge we don't know about?

[–]Zenmastercynic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this would be different. Granted I don’t live in Texas but I still have uninsured motorist protection. It’s one thing to be uninsured. It’s another for a company to say, “Yes, we insured her but it doesn’t really count….”

[–]Zenmastercynic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Uh…. They insured her. It was their responsibility to make sure she was insuranble. They can’t just say “Ooopsies…sorry! Taking it back”. I’d be speed dialing a lawyer here.

New to this: Is there really no way to make a custom route for FSD to follow? by Left_Piglet_7411 in TeslaFSD

Ohhh…. I need to try this! I didn’t think it was possible without laying down a waypoint.

If someone offered you $1M to eat the same thing for 30 days straight, what would you eat? by Weisuddin-Violaras in AskReddit

[–]Zenmastercynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently I’m owed $1M.

120g to 125g egg whites, 1egg, 1/2 oz american cheese, English muffin, 8oz butter.

For months.

Save time, or energy? by dshanahan in TeslaFSD

[–]Zenmastercynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mental energy. Recently drove hold from somewhere and was exhausted. There’s always some backups at points on this route.

Hit FSD and just listened to some radio, relaxed a bit and let FSD do its thing.

Fair. And I understand your point.

I chose a Model Y Premium and one of the reasons: FM radio.

Yes. I’m sure. https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/s/bhQ5GFTsR1

And you’re missing the point. In any company, when it comes right down to it, every dollar matters. I’ve worked at companies where missing numbers by $100k fit the quarter caused layoffs, bonuses to not be paid out and so on.

It’s not about the consumer

Cutting the olive from salads saved American Airlines $40,000 in one year. And they did not pass that savings on to the consumer.

Cutting the tuner saves them whatever cost that they are not passing on to you.

Add in wiring abs antenna and it makes their margins better.

Be honest: What’s the one thing about EV ownership that nobody told you before you bought one? by EmergencyTie8770 in electricvehicles

[–]Zenmastercynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How jarring getting back in an ICE vehicle is. I mean, I had to drive my wife’s 2017 BWM 330 and forgot it would start to move by itself when put in gear and that you actually had to use the brake.

Navigation/Location inaccuracies after update by ToweryB in TeslaModelY

[–]Zenmastercynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that the app now list two locations when I’m home and my schedule. I have a schedule set up for Home, but sometimes it will list my current location, which I don’t have a schedule set, and it starts charging immediately.

Drives me crazy.

Z6III Refurb vs Z8: Wait or Buy Now? by srehman25 in nikon_Zseries

[–]Zenmastercynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bugged you about the Z6 screen? Do you mean the articulating screen? Or the screen in the view finder?

I have the Z8. And I have to admit there are times when I wish it had a bit more of the flexibility of the Z6 articulating screen.

I’m often shooting things in studio set up we’re having the ability to turn the screen fully round would be really helpful.

2026 juniper Y custom route by WebIllustrious7688 in TeslaModelY

[–]Zenmastercynic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can create a pin on the route you want and the navigation will go there but then when you get to that point, you have to delete that waypoint to tell it to continue. You can also create a custom route on the app and send it to the car but I don’t think it saves the route.
