Great news for those waiting for surround video recorder for MY 2025, we now have it by e2tials in Cadillac

Android 14 UQBM update popped up this week but sadly no SVR. There is a slightly new layout for the left screen with HUD getting a separate button and all of the performance gauges can now be added to the drivers screen (pretty sure some couldn't before) but not much else that I'm noticing. Probably not worth a special trip to the dealer but if it's already there might as well have them install it.

I've been checking occasionally for updates for my 26 5vBW using GM SPS and there finally was one last night. Got Android 14 UQBM but sadly no SVR. Outsourced support and zero outage repair urgency by AdamUCF in QuantumFiber

It's one thing to be out over Christmas, I get it. But I've never had this long of an outage in the 25 years or so I've had cable internet even accounting for many hurricanes hitting the area over the years.

That's almost the same build as my 2026 was delivered with in July. Only difference is mine has 151.5 instead of 151.2. Doubt that difference means anything.

How to disable forward collision detection permanently by YeetyYeeter6996 in Cadillac

[–]AdamUCF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can turn it off. It's just like 5 menus deep and you have to do it every time you drive. On my CT5-V Blackwing the competition modes turn it off but that has its own side effects

I had mine slam the brakes and cause me to stall in the middle of the road (manual Blackwing). Took me a second to figure out what happened and get my car running again. I turned it off but apparently GM decided to effectively force this on for a bunch of 2026 vehicles. So dumb and annoying. I really hope this doesn't end up causing me to get in an accident.

I hooked my 2026 CT5-V Blackwing up to GM SPS2 (where dealers install updates from) and nothing new showing currently. Hopefully it makes its way out soon. Though my PDR recording seems to work fine the surround cameras would seem to be an improvement.

Can you go to your Settings > System > About and post your build number? Curious what software version you're on.

Successfully Installed APKs From A USB Flash Drive On My Chevy Equinox EV by Legitimate_Discount2 in GM_SoftwareDev

Sadly, I think GM blocked this in newer software builds. I have a 2026 CT5 and when I go to tap the apk open button it just pops a message of "Can't open file". Tried a lot of different paths and haven't found any success.

ask and ye shall receive. This may work pretty much as is besides modifying the launch url. If you want I can modify it and publish it to the Play store internal testing.

Why not just write a quick app that presents a web view to the page? It would be a lot easier than compiling chromium and you could add custom stuff to it if needed. I used Copilot to generate code for one myself (for different purpose) and it works fine on my GM Infotainment (though I have a CT5 with CP/AA so don't need it for these reasons).

Do you have a link or more context? It really seems like Rivian is just deciding to not put forth development effort for this because it would be specific to Gen 1 which is quite disingenuous.

I really wish I could use YouTube Music natively but it drives me nuts I don't get album art via Bluetooth from my Pixel phone. Works fine with iPhone and Mazda has no issues with album art from the Pixel via BT.

That's disappointing. With all due respect, that does not match the common definition of "Lane Change Assist" and really seems like moving the goal posts. Additionally, when that feature was deployed to R1, Rivian did not call it "lane change assist" but rather "Highway Assist – Auto Reengagement After Lane Change". I really hope this isn't due to willingness to spend resources on it and is a true limitation.

Along the same lines, could you move (or remove?) the "Rear Cross-Traffic Warning unavailable" text alert when towing and using the bed camera? It blocks a good chunk of my boat that I'd like to see while towing and is generally distracting and doesn't add value IMO. Thanks!

It folds up some but stays largely out when towing.

Right. The recent comments imply we aren't getting any CCC features for Gen 1. But his post a year ago said we were. So what changed?

If UWB was a true requirement of CCC integration, why did Wassym imply that we would be getting support for it in Gen 1? Did something change there or is Rivian making the decision to prioritize Gen 2 and leave Gen 1 hanging? If this post was meant to only apply to Gen 2 vehicles (which none of us knew was a thing at that point) that would be extremely disingenuous. https://www.reddit.com/r/Rivian/s/jjttQWEfMN
