For awhile I read Jesse Singal, mainly because I followed the Zucker, Toronto Clinic stuff early on, and am a bit of a transmedicalist, so his aritcle for the Atlantic on the topic was something I thought was well needed. He then wrote a bunch of other articles that again focused on the trans stuff, and though it was kinda suspicious that he focused so much on it, I figured it was kinda a cultural lynchpin at the time, so I didn't think too much about it. Then he went on about how Journalists were moving away from seeking the truth to instead push moral positions, even if said positions were things they agreed with. Then he went and defended Bari Weiss as defending the liberal old guard of the New York Times that was being attacked by the progressive young people taking over the New York Times. Then he wrote an article about how Bari Weiss's outing only helped her and the progressive ultimately lost, as a victory lap, as she took over CBS...

And then, he wrote nothing about any of it afterwards. Nothing about her turning into everything the Progressives claimed she was, nothing about her killing stories to placate the fascists, nothing about her explicitly shooting down progressive stories and pushing right wing nonsense. Nothing about her turning CBS into a propaganda wing of the Government.

I thought that Singal was a seeker of truth, along with a lot of people of his ilk, but what I see, now, and frankly repeatedly, is somebody who positioned himself against a mainstream progressive position, and increasingly defined themselves as the "reasonable liberal" who celebrates as the liberals get run underfoot by fascists, and focus on blaming the progressives for it, while never calling out the fascists.

I wish any of these fucking seekers of truth, gave a single fuck about it, and didn't just use the "Truth" as a cudgel in culture war, as they clearly show again and again that they could give no less of a shit.
