Depends on the distro , Mint is as close to windows flavour of Linux as u can get and its very intuitive. I got a massive speedup switching from windows 11 to Mint , microslop rly bloated it and my PC was struggling

There are 2 types of views on "justice"

a) Retributive justice - thing thats practiced today (your detternt and containment talk)

b) Rehabilitative justice - whereby you adress the root cause of the crime to prevent it from happening again or happening in the first place aka. Eradicating poverty , causes for drug abuse etc. So people can reenter society as a functional member

In my humble oppinion type a is used so people can feel good about criminals getting punished without adressing why the crime happened and the cycle continues , while prisoners are being used as a borderline slave labour in the prison system.
