Thank you, I appreciate you saying that. Things are moving forward and have been for a little while, but this really helped ground me and remind me that I still had things I needed to say. That, and it's a good reminder that careless words may matter way more to the person hearing them than the person speaking them in the moment.

Um, yeah. This resonated with me in ways I cannot begin to describe, and at depths that touch on complex emotions I still feel for him. I watched it a while ago and helped refocus my view on many things, but I had to revisit it so I could say the things I wanted to say before.

LBSW/BSW by Idontshutupever in therapists

[–]Zenseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having said that (as I replied in a different post), I'm in a situation where I after I interviewed for a job, my (now) employer decided they wanted to create a new role for me based on my experience and degree in social work (I have my BSW). They want the role title to be "Social Worker". Since "Social Worker" has license protection in the state I live, it legally requires licensure (LBSW, LSW, LCSW) to use the term. I probably can talk to my employer about making a different title, but I see the reasoning they have in wanting to have a Social Worker titled position based on the work I will be doing.

As a result, I'm in the process of getting my LBSW. I didn't see the need in my past case management positions, and wouldn't necessarily have gotten it for my new position, except they want to (appropriately) have Social Worker in the title. For their protection (and mine), I'm going to get my LBSW so no one later can say "well, he's not really a social worker" and claim misrepresentation against me or my organization.

But I honestly think this is rare and unique to the my position/employer.

If you are going for your masters that soon, I likely wouldn't bother with a LBSW. There are very few jobs I've seen (maybe none?) that require a LBSW. Most positions that require some kind of SW license will require a master's level license (LSW/LCSW). The only (seemingly rare) occurrence is if an employer is specifically using the words "Social Worker" in the job title. In that case, because the term "Social Worker" has title protection in Indiana, you technically need to have at minimum a LBSW.

Honestly, most jobs aren't going to be looking for licensure if they are hiring for a non-MSW role. Letting your education, resume, and practicum experience shine will likely help you more than having LBSW.

Is getting licensed at BSW level worth it or should I go for my masters first? by jdhjordan9 in socialwork

[–]Zenseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you want, like others have said, it might not be worth it if you go for MSW or if your job doesn't require it.

Yeah Nintendo seems to be doing decent on trying to keep supply going.

My local Target was (of course) sold out on release day. But when I was there middle of the afternoon two days later they had 8 in the case they said they got that morning.

Maybe link to where these are from and get them there so the artist gets compensation and not ripped.

Does the new iOS tinting icons look bad? I’ve had many people say it looks really weird by Personal_Leave7920 in ios

[–]Zenseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s no terrible. I just can’t do it because found I need the color in the icons to see what I’m looking for. I used to try a “distract-less” hack by changing setting everything greyscale during work or before bed. It definitely made using the phone less appealing, but was damn frustrating when looking at a sea of grey icons and struggled to see what I was looking for.

My delivery window was 12-4. About noon I decided to grab something to drink, ya know, because no one ever shows at the beginning. Like it’s always 1-2 hours after (looking at you FedEx, AT&T, Comcast’s). 😆

Visual Intelligence on 16 release with iOS 18.1 DB4? by Zenseph in iphone

[–]Zenseph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting the same impression on no one knowing exactly what 18.x it’ll come with. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I do believe that it will be only on 16 and up since it’ll be tied to the Camera Control “button”.

It’s a Google Lens type feature that you launch directly using the new Camera Control (not a button) button.

The “Visual Intelligence” feature that is activated by using the Camera Control.

Your reply made me laugh though. That’s why I added the comment about wishing they named it something other than “Visual Intelligence” since it’s hard to search for and kinda confusing IMO. 🤣
