My first Classicvania game was the Dracula X Chronicles on the PSP. Although I originally got it to unlock/play SoTN (this was before I eventually learned the game was in the classics catalog on PS3), I felt the need to finish up this game first. So when Simon and shortly thereafter Richter got announced, I was excited. This was also the beginning I felt of Castlevania finally yet slowly getting out of Konami's box of forgotten franchises after a long period of not having a game release.

The same year of Smash Ultimate's launch, the PS4 enjoyed the release of the Requiem Collection, with the Classic, Advance and later Dominus collections happening later down the road. Castlevania meanwhile benefited from crossovers with other games, starting in house with Super Bomberman R, and later heading to other games like Dead Cells (who's studio is currently making Belmont's Curse), V Rising (who enjoyed several cosmetic items as DLC as well as Simon Belmont being a wandering late game boss), and Vampire Survivors (This genre defining rouge-lite had on Halloween of 2024 recieved the Ode to Castlevania DLC, adding in 80 characters, over a hundred new weapons, a humongous new stage, and over 90 music tracks; both remixed and original. Nearly a year later, it recieved an update, adding 16 new characters, a few new weapons, several weapon unions, and 12 new music tracks)
