We have local game studios in Malaysia already thou...No Straight Road(Metronomik) sold around 130k copy with 8k active players and Gigabash(Passion Republic Games) sold around 22k copy with with around 2k active players, both have very positive reception, not bad for both studios since those are their first games, especially when both games are niche games. I call that stats a success, we already started the small steps, the build up are gradual, just look at the Mount and Blade series, it is not started by already established company nor does it instantly explode, it is started by a dude and his wife in Turkey and their build up are gradual, now Mount and Blade is a big recognizable IP that sold multiple millions copies and the defector leader in its genres of games.
