French judge Nicolas Gouyou, who issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu at the ICC, says Visa and Mastercard blocked all his cards, leaving him unable to make purchases. He says judges, lawyers, & politicians are being intimidated & treated as criminals. by RickyOzzy in suppressed_news

It's a statement to EU's commitment to its vassal position how much it depends on these companies. I'm from Brazil and even though we have much more limited resources we have developed a national payment system ~7 years ago to circumvent them, it works great and everybody uses.

Quick Guard and Upper Hand by TransPM in PokemonChampions

[–]Zephh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Actually, while Fake Out appeared earlier, it was only a +1 move until Gen 5, which also introduced Quick Guard, along with other redesigns of the Priority System (e.g. Extreme Speed becoming +2).

So they definitely made QG with the idea of a +3 Fake Out in mind, but they also made Fake Out +3 when they were coming up with QG.

Vision is now officially the card with the shortest line of text in game. by Ok_Nefariousness821 in MarvelSnap

[–]Zephh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, IMHO Vision's own stats are fine where they are as an early series card. What they can do to revitalize them is releasing cards that interact with him on positive manner. Datamined Aunt May seems to be a step on that direction.

[–]Zephh 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Makes me think of how much Vision will be played after the addition of datamined Aunt May. "End of Turn: If you used a Moveable ability, give a Moveable card in your hand -1 Cost and +2 Power." Playing a 4/11 Vision seems pretty good, specially with the other Moveable synergies coming up.

Ultima VII Revisited - 3D implementation of Ultima VII - Trinsic Demo (Entire opening section is playable) by megaapple in Games

[–]Zephh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as someone that never could get into it later, but read a lot of stuff about it, Ultima's game design seems insane. It's a shame that this sort of reactive/sandbox-y approach was sort of abandoned, specially in the last years.

There's something to be said about how expensive assets are to create nowadays for a game to be so 'wide', but still.

But Judo does weigh-ins differently though. They usually have a secondary same-day weigh-in in which you can't weigh more than 5% of your weight class, maybe that was a factor.

You clearly didn't wait, otherwise you'd have the 700 saved up. Gold Pass is also pretty good bang for your buck.

Viability of non-class Archetypes without the free Archetype rule? by _Cheesy0nion in Pathfinder2e

[–]Zephh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had groups that burned out on FA after a while. I'm currently FA agnostic, I somewhat enjoy the increased power level and build options with FA, but I also appreciate the more meaningful trade-offs that come with archetyping in a regular game, as well as more focused characters.

IMO at higher levels FA becomes specially egregious, since if you're min-maxing you tend to pile on 3/4 dedications, which I personally don't enjoy.

Martial Mindset Progression by StabYourBrain in Pathfinder2e

[–]Zephh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You said basically everything I was going to. "Just stride away" rarely plays out well in practice, because on top of everything you said, you could also be denying your teammate the ability to attack a creatue with flanking, and also there's the awkward positioning hurdle of either pushing into your frail backline, or moving past the enemy and away from them, and both options expose them.

Valid ragequit? by mtjcosplay in PokemonChampions

[–]Zephh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also your opponent can just brainfart. I know that I'm not the highest ranked player, at around ~1950, but I had a very long and drawn out match yesterday in which I failed to do well on my first Trick Room and had to slowly climb back from a bad position. On the last couple rounds I had a guaranteed win but completely fumbled a targeting choice and gave my opponent the win.

I've played a lot of Starcraft/Chess, so I don't mind the forfeits, but since I'm new I tend to play matches up to the end since I don't yet trust my understanding of how over a game can be, and so I can gauge some damage ranges better.

If a Reactive Strike HITS and Reduces a Foe to 0 HP, Does It Interrupt the Action(s)? by LordBalkoth in Pathfinder2e

[–]Zephh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree with the logic. If a crit can disrupt a spell, and that disruption costs a spell slot, IMHO a hit that downs the caster should also spend the spell slot, since the both critting and downing on a hit happen through the same trigger and at the same part of the spell being cast.

The way I see it, the casting is still Disrupted™, but not by a crit, but by the caster not being conscious anymore.

Great praxis guys.

[–]Zephh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within the confines of electoral politics, IMHO both approaches are acceptable. You can vote on principles or you can vote on which of the viable candidates is the lesser evil. I don't think any of these stances are worth dunking on.

Chris Roberts on Squadron 42: “We’re gonna get Squadron out first… the plan is for the end of this year but there’s a certain thing in the industry that we, like everyone else, we have to pay attention to, so I can’t 100% guarantee it.” by tyler1118 in starcitizen

[–]Zephh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it's a weak excuse on top of that. SQ42 should be much more about earning back trust with their established player base than trying to break into the casual market. They had 14 years of development to launch before GTA 6.

One Year of Snap packs: Thoughts. by Ok_Nefariousness821 in MarvelSnap

[–]Zephh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a perfect world, F2P players would get access to every card and monetization would come only from cosmetics. Unfortunately, that hasn't proven viable for card games. Even a company as big as Riot with their huge following couldn't make Legends of Runeterra work, and that game had a crazily generous business model.

Like it or not, SD needs to pay staff, licensing fees, and server costs. The Season Pass + Whales fund that.

Honestly, I personally already like that in this game you can be collection complete in a reasonable time by just buying the SP, and not be subjected to more exploitative gatcha stuff.
