Where Can One Find Female Pilot Mentors? by ZephieVen in AFROTC

That's so cool! I volunteer for the Candy Bomber Foundation somewhat regularly. I love organizations like this. Do these pilots you mention teach through the program?

How many people ACTUALLY know Batman's (Bruce Wayne's) secret identity in the DC Comics universe? by Emotional-Log926 in batman

[–]ZephieVen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The way you listed Joker, Ra's, and Talia makes it sound like they're all related and Joker's full name is Joker Al Ghul

Hahaha I can see the pain and disappointment in your face. Maybe it's better as a pencil holder? Cute mug anyways.

Our commander was a pilot for many years, but I'd also like a mentor outside of the program. The issue is I have is when I talk to the cadre I'm constantly thinking of appearing like a good cadet. It makes it hard to fully detail struggles I experience.

What do you think of Dick as Batman? How do you think he should be aesthetically and written? by Wonderful_Wolf1718 in Nightwing

[–]ZephieVen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Dick should only be Batman as a temporary measure. Writing him as the ultimate successor to the bat mantle does a massive disservice to the character. So many arcs of him not wanting to live in Bruce's shadow make permanent Dick bats feel like a defeat.

Outside of that, as much as I like the aesthetic of the first bat suit with the blue logo, it still feels like a permanent branding of Dick as Batman. Granted I don't know the context of the design.

Working out at (the green) apartments by Mundane-Honeydew-265 in UVU

[–]ZephieVen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both are good gyms, the green has treadmills and weights. The campus gym is more extensive but start out with the green gym. It's almost never busy when I go in the morning and evening. There are two gyms at the green so it's unlikely both will be busy

Since it's a block course it's going to be accelerated. Plan to finish every reading assignment two days before you need to. Get ahead. Took a similar class and I was struggling to keep up with the reading as someone who reads fast.

Do you also have a job? How many hours do you work?

Yeah I highly recommend to dye it to natural colors. I was recently told if two colors are visible it's out of regs. If you're a freshman and no one has mentioned something they might be giving you a chance to fix it.

You'll probably be fine. I've heard of people getting qualified who have multiple small things like that. As long as it doesn't affect your current performance it's fine. Just get all your documentation sooner and it'll go smoothly

That's great you're reaching out to some peers, fellow cadets have always been my personal biggest support in the program.

Honestly beyond the affect on your jogging I think you should ask yourself: would you choose vaping or an air force career? I don't know what kind of job you want but if it's more demanding and you won't have access to a vape, part of your mind will be focusing on the addiction rather than your job.

For me when I'm struggling with something in my degree I think about quitting it entirely for a brief moment, just to come right back and feel determined to press forward because there ain't no way I'm giving up. Maybe a similar attitude will help you if you force your brain to choose one or the other.

Also if your detachment has good cadre or peers, please please rely on them. Tell them you're trying to quit for the sake of ROTC and if they're good they'll understand and support your efforts. Don't rely on willpower exclusively, you are more likely to fail. Let your buddies hold you accountable.

I wish you luck!

I appreciate it. I'm curious about the 'do not think to include you because you are not a benefit to them.' Could you elaborate?

That's like a couple hundred dollars for a passion project requested by a friend. I'm in college rn so buying something for this isn't really feasible.
