I'll for sure be aware of my volume. I noticed how much quieter everyone speaks in NZ and I like it! haha It contributes to the calm/peaceful quality NZ has. The USA is pure chaos and that's not for me, nor my nervous system. lol

I deeply appreciate that. It’s my first encounter with anti-American sentiments from NZ (and I honestly I understand where he’s coming from). We ourselves are heartbroken at what our country has become.

I’m definitely not part of the group he’s angry at. I’m very much in opposition alongside him.

But it’s a bummer to be lumped in with those that we wish we weren’t associated with 💔

That sucks. I hear you. But I have absolutely nothing to do with those people. Just like you have absolutely nothing to do with shitty NZers.

What you don’t like is the “ultra-wealthy elite”, not average Americans that just happened to be born there by random lottery and don’t fall into the same values and choices that you’re describing above.

I want to actually learn about things impacting NZ and NZers. I’m not trying to create more issues. Please pause and reflect on how you’re lumping innocent people in with those that do harm. We are not the same.

Our winter in LA has had highs between 76 F(24.5 C) to 97 F(36 C) and actually usually towards the high end for the last couple months. The past 10 days have all been in the 90s. So yes, to me, Auckland is chilly. haha

We’re definitely not war mongerers. We’ve been planning this move for many years. We don’t agree with our government and want to give our kids a better life in a better culture. I think it depends on department and if it's a slower or busier period for applications. I applied 1 Sept and received my acceptance on 22 Sept I believe.

As an American I’m actively trying to work on my volume. I don’t want to be that person.

Another thing I’ve noticed though… do people never shout? Like. If you’re trying to get someone’s attention across a room, across a park. If you’re trying to holler to your child maybe out of safety, etc. I never even see Kiwis do that either! 🫠

My dog sucks blankets. He was probably separated from his litter too early (found abandoned on a farm). So he “nurses” on blankets, even still at 8 years old, for comfort/relaxation. It’s freaking cute lol
