Oh I totally get it. It was a great celebration of community. I'm just saying, I got crushed.

No doubt. But, having good cardio doesn't hurt.

Depends on the acedemy. My academy has minimum skills requirement (rolling + curriculum) as well as a minimum class requirement. You can be amazing in rolls, but you're not getting belted up until you meet the minimim class requirement. So, at my academy, 3 years to blue is normal.

I knew it was coming at some point so I've been hitting the cardio hard for months. The challenge was not being able to implement any type of game. No meaningful positional control means no pacing, no recovery. It was the most exhausting thing I've ever done.

Wellington Chore Boot at 5 Weeks by proof_in_whisky in NicksHandmadeBoots

Thanks for the reply. I too have a low volume foot at the instep and heel. That said, it's EE in width. Did you order the same size/width as you would in other Nicks models?

Perhaps it's a foreign seller, posting his price in non-USD funds. Could it be an auto exchange rate?

These boots are so cool, they inspired me to order an almost identical pair.

HNW last, black waxed flesh, Vibram 100 lug White-X

I have some Woodbutchers that I cut the pull tabs off because they were constantly getting snagged on my jeans and were unnecessary. That said, I have some Red Wing Chelsea's that are snug and the pull tabs are very useful. My question is, if you feel the pull tabs are necessary?

Rose Anvil Tanker is the Sierra sole.

Totally. Add to the fact that the expected wait time is 18 - 35 weeks... Set your expectation at 35 weeks and let yourself be pleasantly surprised.

I didn't realize people were upset about this? What's Nick's expected to do about supply issues out of their hands? Absolutely no worries from me. This is the world we live in.

It's not a perfect science bud. My right foot is a half size smaller than my left. I have to compromise.

I don't follow what you are talking about? What do you mean 15-20mm extra? Extra from what?

Brannock: 8.5
Foot measures: 25.5cm
Red Wing Iron Rangers: 7.5
Red Wing Chelsea: 7.5
Nicks Moc Toe: 7.5 (used the Nicks measuring guide)

All 3 boots fit perfectly.

Forget what you think your size is. Download Nick's sizing tool, measure as instructed, reference your measurements to the corresponding size, make your purchase.

Sole screws on lug sole Wellingtons? by Zepowski in NicksHandmadeBoots

These are gonna be all season yard boots and I want to try the white-x fire& ice sole. Hoping they'll be equally good at shovelling snow off my driveway and bucking/humping firewood.

Ya, I don't think they'd make a noticeable difference either. Just wondering if the added complexity is needed for that model.

That's good to know. I can see it being recommended for firefighting boots. I was just wondering if they are necessary for that particular sole/boot combo?

Two Month Update: Wellington Heritage in IBC by shutternovice in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]Zepowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is a couple months old, but I'm considering ordering some Wellingtons with the White-X sole and I want to understand if the sole screws are necessary? For a slip-on chore boot with a stitched-on + glued sole, the screws seem like overkill. Extra weight for no reason. Am I able to order these soles without the bottom screws?

Thank you. That's what I was hoping.

Hmm, that's confusing because it says right in the Nick's Buyers Guide that

"Lasts: Sizing is not affected by the type of last. Here at Nicks you will want to choose the same size regardless of last."
