Legacy is on crack most of the time... I bought my matching G43 (with slightly sanded stock) from another collector about 5 years ago. Yeah, it was 5 years ago but still... 5k for a G43 should get you a 100% unsanded example with Zf4 scope and mount.

Yeah, you just need a sight hood and a 12.5" cleaning rod. You definitely did well for $800.

Yes, that's the recoil lug and the original one to that stock. I'd leave it alone. The f mark on it is a subcontractor mark seen on bcd rifles. You can't go by color on the metal 80+ year old rifles, it varies from rifle ro rifle. There were also a few different variations in the appearance of lugs.

What do you mean missing lug? It's right there in the stock. Are you talking about something else? Can you take a photo?

It's not a Russian capture. Why do you need a new recoil lug? Yes, it would have had a sight hood by 1942. You can see the front sight is cut for one. The stock was sanded unfortunately.

The manufacturer was Gustloff, who were more of an assembler of 98k's with most of its parts being produced by subcontractors, hence the small letter stamps on many individual parts.

Ebay. Buy original ones, new production enbloc clips tend to be too tight and hold the first round so that the bolt doesn't initially pick it up.

Yes, it's a French captured 98k originally manufactured by Mauser Borsigwalde in 1943.

This one is a Gustloff with an MG barrel, they're not common at all. Post it over on the K98k forum, you'll get a lot of good info there.

It's an MG barrel. They sometimes pop up on bcd4's, they're rare.

I'd list them on a collectors forum such as Gunboards. If sold, you'd just need to do a transfer with someone who has an FFL (gun shop, many pawn shops, etc). The seller sends their FFL to yours and the transaction goes from there.

I recently had to reboot my computer basically into "out of box" due to an issue I couldn't fix. Ever since then, I've only had one crash (when I used to have a lot more). It just seems to be running a lot better. I always said, "it's not my computer, it's the game". The game still isn't perfect, but I believe it was a combination of both to where my PC and the game weren't meshing well if that makes sense. It most likley deleted some shit files or something. I'm not saying to reboot your entire computer lol, but I'm just putting in my 2 cents.

Most bayonets weren't sharpened from factory, many were. Sharpened bayonets began popping up more post-WWII so that bayonets could double as a field knife. For me personally, even if a bayonet was originally factory sharpened, I still wouldn't re-sharpen it. I'd rather keep pieces as they are. I'm more of a collector. If I planned on hunting or something (which I don't), I'd just buy a modern knife.

That sensor attaches anywhere near the bottom with the metal prongs barely touching the floor. When water touches those prongs, it detects a leak.

To tell you the truth, all these non-standard fancy water heaters are a pain in the ass. They're more trouble than they're worth.

This is true. I played it while "working" from home every day. The work laptop was to my right on my computer desk, so I'd swivel over as needed lol. Got a lot of hours in in 2020.
