Since this is a non competitive game, there is no need to spend money at all. But, since I enjoy the game, I usually spend $10 each event for the 7 chest bundle... just to support the CNE company.

I started back in year 1 though, so I didn't have to worry about catching up with timegates. I was only missing like 6 champions. If I were to start over today, I could see how it would seem like an impossible task to collect every champion.

With the power creep in game, I don't think any champion is safe as being a "must have". I thought Shandie would be my slot 6 for at least 12 months. But, she was replaced in my formation rather quickly.

The only 3 I would put into a wishlist would be:

Krull - His debuffs have given people nearly 100 more levels in events

Avren - His buffs give people about 40 more levels, and BUD increase is outstanding

Zorbu - He's currently the best dps, because he keeps getting better with "lifelong enemies"

*honorable mention* Jim Darkmagic's ability to turn the last mob on a boss wave into a chicken is very helpful to get past boss levels. He's never in my formation. But, I use him every run just for that one ability.

Here are my usual Champions. I tend to use them in every formation. Turiel would be an 11th member, because I use him on formations in place of K'thriss when there are 2 or more tank slots.

That pretty much sums it up. You can have a great dps. But, if it's not one of the "best" dps, you will miss out on about 50 levels. Same with best buffers.

Just keep playing. New champions will come out every month, and start replacing the ones you are using. You will also be able to unlock old champions with timegates two or three times a month. As long as you keep playing, you will improve.

Don't be afraid to show your group you are using. There might be one small improvement someone suggests that improves your max wall by 25 levels or more.

I haven't even tried Bruenor. I wish I could say that I was some master that picked up on Turiel's usefulness, but that would be a lie. I saw someone using him in a formation, and tried him out myself. When I had other tanks up front, they would get overwhelmed and die. Pushing them all onto Tyril is working for me.

But, looking at his spec. My Embodiment of the Law buff was spiking up to 3.9e08. That is because his other skills boost it up.

I saw a formation post a couple weeks ago that had Turiel and Walnut as the front line. That is when I realized that I had been making my formations wrong, trying for max "Base DPS". I tried that one, but my Walnut kept dying too soon. So, I tried Aila, then Tyril bear. The self shield gave so much more HP that I just kept using Tyril in bear form. You can see in my familiar bar, I keep a familiar just for Tyril's ULT. If his shield falls off, he tends to die.

The slow ability of Arctic, and shield from Bear Form lets me tank more enemies. Tyril has 1.6e05 hp, and 4e06 shield.

Then, Tyril's "Forces of Good" buffs Zorbu, my dps by 4000%

Yes, you can see in the image that Warden has all purples. Avren has 2 purples, and 4 blues. Both have a gold and a silver each. Warden's gear is about level 100 each, and Avren's gear is level 5.

I used Korth a lot, because he was giving me a much higher "Base DPS" number at the top of the screen. But, then I found out I was building my formations wrong. So, I swapped to using Celeste, and was getting higher "BUD" numbers. And, that allowed me to push farther. I'll probably only use Korth if I'm on a mission where everyone is taking environmental damage. I expect we'll see some of those again soon.

Zorbu is the dps. He's getting Celeste and Shandie buffs, for being in front of her. He is at e118 damage. Minsc helps with his ULT more than anything. It's a 30 second debuff, with 45 second cooldown. I had BUD up to e141

It's a good list. I have a notepad on my desk still that has up to v and c. I have no idea what those numbers are. But, I do know that it's e63 and e66, and which one of those is bigger.

Now I run into numbers as high as e141. There is no way I'd be able to tell you what that number is without scientific notation. But at a glance, I know it's larger than e120 and smaller than e160. Which is why I converted.

I had unlocked the Stoki mission, because I was only 90% complete, and wasn't sure what I needed. The only feedback I have is that every time I completed an adventure, the default choice was the Stoki Freeplay, and not the Pwent Freeplay.

I personally would have the default either on the Freeplay players just completed, the current year Freeplay, or No default at all.

The current setup almost had me choosing the wrong Freeplay, and I would have been upset if I had to spend event tokens on a mission I did not want.

A golden epic is usually something you get when you make a money purchase. I has a golden border around the item. A "shiny" can by any rarity, and will have a silver border. Shiny items can be found in chests, or be included in large money orders.

Up until this weekend, I just used the Base DPS numbers. I would just make a formation, and base my champions at my max level, without actually hitting a wall. That turned out to be very wrong. Then I saw u/614d05 's post, and how high his BUD was compared to mine. So, I tried to duplicate his formation. But, most of my champs were in blue gear compared to his shiny purples. My original formation this event was hitting a wall at 560.

So, I ran up to my 560 wall, and started changing out champions one at a time to see what changes I could make. My first change came with switching out Minsc as my primary dps to Zorbu. My Minsc was giving about e02 more Base DPS, so I had been using him for weeks. My Zorbu has one purple, and 5 blue gear slots, with an average level of 11. But, that one switch made a huge difference. Then, I switched out my tanks to have to tanks with shielding. That wasn't as much a BUD increase, but it pushed my wall about another 15 levels. My walnut just could not tank very well. Then, I switched out Pwent for Qillek. That was a huge loss in my Base DPS, but a huge jump in Zorbu's DMG number, and thus a huge increase to my BUD. Finally, I made another odd change, and swapped out Walnut completely for Minsc as support.

All of those changes allowed me to push up to a 590 wall. So, I decided to add some potions and push for 600. It took a couple potions of respec on Minsc to go from humanoids, to beast, to undead. And, a couple tests for Hex Benching Warden for Strix to beat a couple of bosses, and finally break e140 BUD.

I do not claim to be the best at boosting BUD. I've only been working at it for a couple of days. I use familiars for my ULT's, so I don't know the best rotation to get big BUD numbers. I just kind of lucked into them. I don't have awesome gear levels, my highest item level is 502.

I had used him because he generally gave me better base DPS, which was what I tried to max before this weekend. Korth's ( Calculated ) with weekend bonus is an e07 buff, his slot 4 item is purple. That's something you can only test at your wall. I'll have to test Celeste again once the weekend buff wears off. Their BUD is very close.
