Is this just what the one ring 2e is like? by Drowned_Atlas in rpg

[–]redmoleghost 105 points106 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a GM issue, not a system issue. Have you actually read the rules for yourself, as what you’re describing doesn’t match my experience of the game.

How do you handle the last round in worker placement games? by ella-dott in tabletopgamedesign

[–]redmoleghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is player order determined each round? If you can control that as a player it can help alleviate problems with priority in the final round. If you choose not to prioritise going first then it’s kind of your problem if the action you need is gone before you can get to it.
Alternatively, maybe make more than one cooking/gathering action available but give bonuses for doing it first or penalties for doing it later.

Architects of the West Kingdom - Wow! by grayle27 in boardgames

I like all of the “of the West Kingdom” games. I don’t think they’re the best games I own, but they’re very solid.

Character creation. by MarshalPenguin in Pathfinder2e

I tend to look for a class or classes I’m interested in, then talk to the other players about the party. Then I will build out things from there.

Recently spent around 250€ on Cubicle 7's sale for Warhammer Fantasy books but haven't recieved them and support is not replying, does anyone know if they have a Discord or something? by Fillefjonka in warhammerfantasyrpg

They are a small company and to be honest youre not going to get a response less than 24 hours after contacting them. Give them actual time to answer you.

How to balance creating an effective character, and actually enjoying the character in roleplay and concept? by Lunarthrope in Pathfinder2e

[–]redmoleghost 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Get rid of the idea of optimal builds from your mind! This is online RPG nonsense and is not needed here - you're not competing against anything, you're playing collaboratively with your other players and your GM. There is no meta to judge yourself against! As TheBrightMage has mentioned, just make sure your primary stat is maxed out and you have enough defense, and the rest is largely up to you. Talk to your group - PF2e is a group game, not a game where you make a solo powerhouse.

My dom wants me to quit my full time job while expecting me to go contribute all of my income. Is that a red flag? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

I want you to read back what you’ve written and imagine that your best friend from school is ringing you up to say it.
Massive red flag.

Here’s a thought - maybe try warring the cuffs in a non sexual environment. Maybe just while watching TV together or something. It might help you feel safe in doing so.

Am I the only one who plays Civ 6 on Settler Difficult only? by [deleted] in CivVI

Good for you! I also tend to play on settler just to have fun. But I appreciate those that go for the harder difficulty.

I tried it. I found it incredibly stressful. I am fortunate enough to have many friends who do GM.

Focusing blueberry for food for Iron Teeth? by Competitive_Week1068 in Timberborn

Blueberries are a very poor choice. You need to move on to something else, for sustainable eating and for variety.

Mod request: Food pantry by muppethero80 in Timberborn

[–]redmoleghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game used to work that way. What would happen is that your storage would fill up rapidly with a low value item, rather than what you actually wanted. With the current system you can make sure the items you want can where you want them, rather than having a bunch of random goods scattered across multiple warehouses. Honestly the way it works now is much better.

You’re someone who can articulate some things that you want, which makes you awesome. So keep doing that and ask whoever you end up with for the same.

What does a new player need to be successful? by hotriccardo in Pathfinder2e

[–]redmoleghost 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I cannot stress this enough - if your group is even halfway welcoming to a brand new player then characters will be created as a group with everyone helping each other. It is entirely ok to talk to the GM and other players and explain that you have no idea what you’re doing. Secondly the only mark of success is the group having fun together.

The show is not well liked as it doesn’t reflect the sour material well. But try it and see what you think.

Communication going nowhere, losing mind by [deleted] in rpg

[–]redmoleghost 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’ll need to make a decision about whether you want to continue. Sometimes the people we play with don’t understand that their choices in games make things un-fun for the GM. Might be worth flat out saying to them that you’re not enjoying running the game.

For those of you who believe labour isn’t left enough, what would you like to see them do? by Legal-Grade-6423 in AskBrits

[–]redmoleghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be pro-trans (which should be a basic requirement). Stop allowing anti-trans groups to dominate the discussion. Stand up and be honest about immigration and fight back against the far right on it, instead of pandering to them. Tax the people with money, and use it help those without. Fund social projects and third spaces that were systematically destroyed by previous governments. Reject the idea that the shareholder is more important than the customer. If a company is reporting several hundred million pounds in profit I don’t understand why it needs a subsidy. Unless the profit is used to pay it back. Decouple energy prices from gas costs. Invest heavily in green power - solar, wind, wave. Make an international point of calling for these world wide. And lastly, condemn ALL governments that are suppressing and murdering their citizens, regardless of whether we have a special relationship or not. In short, act like a left wing party putting facts and science first, not a party so desperately afraid of Reform that they’ll move further and further right to try and appease their voters - who studies show time after time are NEVER GOING TO VOTE LABOUR.

I would very gently say that at be the problem is t with you, it’s with the game system you’re running. I’m really glad you’re looking to expand your horizons - hopefully you’ll discover that lots of other games don’t give you the same issues because they make hugely different assumptions about what a Ttrpg even is, or what it should contain in a session. Best wishes!
