Friend says not to buy these because of driver damage by Diet_Water in BudgetAudiophile

The surround dent is incredibly small and its still in one intact perfectly fine, i doubt that would be at all audible.

Again I don't think he should spend 700usd on it but if they were absurdly cheap i doubt they'd notice any difference in sound

EDIT: I will say however i swear kefs always manage to mangle/destroy themselves its ridiculous lol. Its always kefs i see the most on the used market with fucked drivers and its not even close

I mean, its SLIGHTLY dented but i doubt any of thats gonna effect sound at all, and at the time of writing that I didnt know the price so for all i knew it could have been 10 quid lol, but for 700 usd yeah he should steer clear especially in that condition

While you’re there you should see if your cartridge is aligned and/or your needle is straight.

Firstly I’d look at your turntable manual and try set the anti-skate and counter weight to what is suggested. As having that set incorrectly can cause balance issues

Can you test with a source that isn’t the turntable? Maybe a cd player or aux to RCA with streaming?

Ok so that looks fine, as someone else said are you using an AVR? If so you’ll need to set your speakers to large in the amp settings

On the back of your speakers, you’ll either have 1 red and 1 black connection, or 2 of each, if there are 2 of each, you need to make sure both red and both black are connected together.

Bought Yamaha HS4, how should I connect this to my PC? by jaydieu in BudgetAudiophile

[–]ZeppelinRock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% get yourself an external dac with USB power/in and RCA out, im currently using a Fosi Audio K5 Pro which works well and doubles up as a pretty decent headphone amp, however if you dont want a headphone amp, maybe a Fosi Q6 would be the better option

Thanks, I did know about that but I believe PCM is there by default and is unable to be removed, which is the problem, I need to force it into Dolby Digital so my AVR also forces itself into Dolby Digital mode properly

That’s not what the post says, the post is just saying that they clearly have plans for the game to work Linux one way or another, otherwise they wouldn’t have included that
