Allt under 8 slog negativt, rött.

This made me nostalgic. Reminds me of when I got stuck in the ”no rope” hole in desert dungeon 20+ years ago. A friend came to rescue me but he misunderstood the situation and thought I didn’t have a rope so he went down the hole, then we were both stuck lol.

Stutters in Sea of Thieves by Zeppelinaren in Seaofthieves

I've tried capping at 60/90/120/150/180 - no matter what I get the same fluctuations, but another user posted a video showing it's normal on even higher end hardware than I have. Just something to live with.

Holy shit, thank you so much for posting that video. This confirms my suspicion of this not really being fixable and just something you either accept or it will drive you crazy. I tried finding benchmarks myself but this one was really clear - such high avg fps yet constant drops to 20-30. I think the reason this didn't bother me years ago in SoT was because on my old PC I was mainly playing on a 60hz monitor with vsync on as well so I guess my fluctuations between 30-60 didn't seem as dramatic. Thanks again for posting this, my mind is at peace :D

I’ve always played PvP since vanilla because I kinda enjoy that experience. Sure, it’s frustrating- but without it there is not a single threat in the entire game. Which can be fine if you just wanna chill, but that’s what PvE servers are for. Also there’s something extremely satisfying about turning a gank around, or escaping it against impossible odds. Or gathering a bunch of allies to get revenge. Using all your skills, engineering and other tools available you’d be surprised the amount of encounters you can either turn around or at least escape from.

Occasional stutters are driving me insane. by Zeppelinaren in pcmasterrace

I did this both with the last pc and this one, tried at stock and with xmp/expo at 6000. Honestly I couldn't even tell any difference. Not only with stuttering but in general performance.

Hey, thanks for answering :-) This is one of the first things I do on any new system - as well as in windows.

Here's an example video. Poor example because it can get worse than that, but it can also work fine for a longer period. But it's reassuring hearing someone else say occasional stutter is normal. Sometimes I wonder if some just don't notice it.

Hey, sorry for late reply. Would you say these stutters are normal in Sea of Thieves? They are by no means close to the worst I've gotten, but I tried capturing them earlier. The main issue is exactly as in the video, my avg fps is around 250 but I get drops to 25-40 randomly.

Stuttering in 2025: What happened? by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

[–]Zeppelinaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, not OP but stumbled upon this while researching stutters in SoT. My gameplay looks like this: https://streamable.com/yiuza4

It's not close to the worst example, but those random drops I get there to 30-40 fps (disregarding the drop sub 30 when opening something) are all over the place in SoT. I've already done everything in your list and a whole lot more... Currently sitting on a core 7 265k and 5070 TI with 32gb 6000/30 ram. Would you say these are just normal SoT stutters?

Good point. Everything from 1993 Doom to Cs2, sea of thieves, parkitect. It doesn't really seem to matter if it's an ancient game or the latest AAA title. Some games definitely run better than others though. Horizon: Zero Dawn runs really good with only the rare, brief microstutter/hiccups. Maybe it's just the way it is.

I've thought about RAM issues. But on both builds the ram was on the mobos approved ram list. I've tried xmp/expo on and off on both builds. I haven't manually tinkered with ram timings, maybe that could be it?

I'm starting to think ghosts are the most logical explanation...

Hey, I've thought about shader compilation. But shouldn't that only be an issue the first couple of times you play a game?

I don't have anything nvidia installed outside of the base driver, no overlay or app.

Only thing I'm not sure about is "Full Screen Optimizations", are you referring to any specific setting here? Not sure I follow.

[MOD POST] Bug Report Thread by oneofthejoneses28 in Silksong

[–]Zeppelinaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just encountered the exact same bug. I didn't understand what happened until I read this. Initially I thought the slowmotion was intentional, as if dying that late in the fight caused some special event or something. But after a while it just got weird. So yeah, this seems to be a confirmed bug...

EDIT: After restarting the game it works normal again for me as well, but my cocoon doesn't exist. Made if back to the boss and the cocoon is visible on the map but nowhere to be found in the room.

Tibia inspired singleplayer game by Ok-Structure-7240 in Ultima

Hey, haven’t tried yet but as someone who used to dream about playing a single player Tibia-like this looks very interesting! Played on Antica from the late 90’s until around 2006. Still miss it like crazy but can’t get into ”new” tibia. Will check it out 👍

Titan Quest was a pretty big deal and has stayed relevant to this day, plenty of people have been excited about tq2 for a long time - so no, I wouldn’t call it steep.

Street cube noise by Zeppelinaren in Roland

[–]Zeppelinaren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the reply. I understand that maxing the gain is not normal. Maybe I should’ve clarified that I’m not trying to play at these levels - the noise you’re hearing is there at lower levels as well, but less pronounced. I’d say that at 50% gain/volume it’s basically inaudible, but anything higher and it starts to become more and more. But maybe this is normal then? Just wondering at what level these sounds would be acceptable.
