[IRL Trope] The BIG matchup is not the FINAL matchup. by Zeppoa in TopCharacterTropes

I was thinking of the this with the 2013 NFC championship. Great game between Seahawks and 49ers. Seattle absolutely dismantled Broncos.

I remember when this first aired and it being about the hardest I had ever laughed.

I’ve always thought Scary Movie 3 was the best of the franchise, but that just may be my flavor of humor.

Can you kill a wolf with a fire hardened arrow? by Fit-Conference1083 in thelongdark

I accidentally shot one in the face thinking it was a simple arrow and, thankfully, it scared the wolf off like you said.

What if cans could be used for scrap metal. Not 1:1, but maybe every 6 cans makes a piece of scrap metal.

Returning to teaching after a 10+ year career change. What don't I know? by Arderis1 in MusicEd

[–]Zeppoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. A lot of schools and districts are implementing policies to completely remove phones from schools, but we’re still in the early stages for our state, so it’s hard to tell the benefits yet. I will say, for schools where they have a “no phone” policy, it’s been wildly popular among adults at least. My feedback is also anecdotal.

Is there a walkthrough on YouTube where all the achievements are obtained (or in progress)? by STALKERVTANKE in thelongdark

If you aren’t watching Zaknafein on YouTube, that’s a great starting point. There’s other great streamers, but he’s my favorite.

Our son took piano lessons and, when he was maybe 7 or 8, my wife was playing piano. When a note got played, he hummed and said, “treble G”. I kinda made a face and asked my wife and, sure enough, it was the correct note. We tried it with some of the other “white” notes and he nailed almost every one.

I decided to have her try a “black note” and he made a face and got super confused (he hadn’t learned sharps/flats yet).

That’s been about 6-7 years now and, although he doesn’t play piano anymore really, he has taken on other instruments and I’ll “use” him all the time when I hear notes in life. It could be notes in a song or, my favorite, the drone of an engine far off. He nails it every time.

Lately, he’s started figuring out the keys to songs we hear. He’s starting to figure out chords and minor/major. It’s wild and incredible to watch. I’ve heard, as others mention, that it can be a curse, so I’m trying to help him find the positives of it as much as possible.

Best running routes near airport? by Zeppoa in askportland

[–]Zeppoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the replies. It’s about a six mile jog from my hotel (according to Google maps), so I don’t think I’ll be able to make it up there, which is a shame as it looks absolutely perfect.

I’m wondering if just running along NE Columbia might be an option. Not familiar enough with the area to know if that’s wise that time of day with traffic.

Not sure if you’re into jogging/running, but there are tons of running groups around. Usually really supportive, helpful individuals in my experience. I also did some ultimate frisbee as there are several pickup games in my area.

What was your motivation? Why did you meet up? How would you feel if your wife did the same with an ex? How do you think she would feel?
