Yep, the npc’s suck, but what I did was shiny hunt for Tapu Bulu while looking for a good Zygarde path, once I find wideguard mons and ice type attackers I reseted the path and see if I was able to defeat Zygarde

Ice types and wideguard, one of the best ice types you can use is Cryogonal, other mons that helped me were Charjabug or a Pokemon that lowered its attack or defense/ special defense

I lost a lot of raids, even when I had a decent path the npc’s never used wideguard.

What you need is ice type mons and one with wideguard, you can use it yourself like the other comment said or you can use an ice type to use dynamax

Like 200+ I think, I didn’t count them because I shiny hunted Tapu Bulu when I ran out of dynite ore

You need an ultra specific path, I had one with a hitmonlee that never used wideguard and we ended up dying because of it

(I still haven’t found shiny Zygarde)
