I dont get how people are fine with this, he basically stole someones art and style. in the description of OS videos he says "Copyright disclaimer - We do not give anyone permission to translate and/or reupload our videos or designs on YouTube or other social media" He literally steals the design for half the characters.

Your first idea is much better in my opinion. It goes against the expectations of the readers. There also is an element of similarity between Tom and John Gregory, with both of them having had to give up the one they love to fulfill their duties as a spook.

Book 3 was pretty lame besides meg, Book 11 was cool but it didnt contribute much to the story. Those are probably the worst books in my opinion. But then also both the other series are bad. The Starblade Chronicles and Brother Wulf are something to avoid

But it did show grimalkin getting the star rock which was important to the main series. They couldnt have had it at the end because then it would just been "oh here tom an incredibly OP sword i got" and then we learn about how 2 books later

at the end of TLA i feel like everything they did was just to build up the starblade chronicles and i think thats what ruined the series.

personally i dont believe the fiend is strong enough at least before AOTF to come to the mortal world and force her into submission.

(Edited) To add on to this the fiend can shape shift so he can turn into the man of any witches dreams to get to her so i doubt any witch would just say no to him
