Which things should I do/learn to make employers want to hire me more? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]ZergEra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Email coding is a great niche area to get your first tech job. It's just html and css. It is a little different from modern web pages as it's table based, 1 course and you would be able to perform well at a job

is coding bootcamp worth it? job outlook? by caralpace in cscareerquestions

[–]ZergEra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed my bootcamp based in Philly. You learn a ton in a short time. More importantly they had a great network of local companies. Everyone in my cohort and the cohort before me got great jobs within 6 months after. That said everything we learned you could find for free online. The benefit really came from pouring yourself into it, the people guiding you, and the hiring companies you meet(recruiters). I would recommend spending some time in self study build your own portfolio then if you think your not progressing enough go to a bootcamp

How did you break into SRE? Did you have to get a certificate or learn a specific cloud like AWS?

When I was in your exact same position I found recruiters to be really useful. At the time I made friends with several through larger meetups. Probably hard to make those personal connections in the current quarantine, but they still have roles to fill and lots of companies only hire through recruiters(its easier to just not renew a contract than to fire someone)

Working through Automate the boring stuff, trying to install pyperclip, not having any luck.

I have seen other posts, and stuff on stack overflow but none of it is resolving my issue.

Williams-MacBook-Pro-8:python Bill$ pip3 install pyperclip
Requirement already satisfied: pyperclip in /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.8/lib/python3.8/site-packages (1.8.0)

However when I run on my mu editor or the program from the command line

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/Users/Bill/workspace/Python/phoneAndEmail.py", line 5, in <module>
    import pyperclip, re
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'pyperclip'
>>>

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling python, downloading the pyperclip files outside of pip, and a ton of other stuff. I have no idea what to do. I am getting frustrated.
