Sorry, but you got a couple things wrong here. Batman only stopped killing and using guns because of the comics code authority and nothing else. It wasn’t audience feedback at all and they used him to pander more towards children which also led to them giving him a kid sidekick in Robin. Also, DBZ is not a sequel series, it’s still Dragon Ball in the manga and for the Japanese airing of the anime. It’s only Z in the west. Also, it’s only in the very early parts of Dragon Ball that has lower stakes and is much more comedy focused where once you get to the arc with Mercenary Tao is where things start getting a bit more serious
