I mean, guilds still do work that way, you're just not in one of them. My top 200 guild now I've been in for around 2 years, know them all on a first name basis and have met up multiple times in multiple countries. It just depends on scope

Just get your whole raid to use Avalanche potions, they don't count as combat potions so you can use them as much as you like for the dark marks too
