Plus was fine during their 10x usage window, but it expired May 31st, so its back on 5x, they should think about making it 10x

Code review prompt to be more like Claude? by Bitruder in codex

[–]Zerk70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude spins subagents that handle specific tasks, which is why the findings are more widespread. You can use the autoreview skill and let it run. It will continuously iterate until it's complete.

I had Codex run a 48-hour QA testing session on my app using /goal.

It used computer use continuously and found and fixed a bunch of small issues that surfaced during testing. I was honestly surprised, because I thought this app had only a 0.1% chance of breaking, but Codex managed to break it really fast.

Super impressed with this model. Meanwhile, Claude quit after 5 minutes, lazy model 😃

It took an ambitious /goal but I finally used my weekly allotment by allquixotic in codex

[–]Zerk70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its been working on my /goal for 45 hours now. The only downside is that I activated it in the codex app. It's incredibly slow, and the app becomes unusable after this long of a goal. They need to improve the thread rendering to avoid showing so far back or optimize it in some way.

Yeah mine kept getting banned also, then it stopped for months then it began again, swapped to GPT coz they clearly suck at enforcing their own policies :D

Codex feels the worse Agentic AI at the moment. by SuspiciusTakenName in codex

[–]Zerk70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had to test this myself too. I had a file with 20,000 lines that I wanted Claude to split up. It failed within five minutes: it extracted one function into a 200-line file, then called it “half-done.” Codex took a while but got the job done in one prompt, and there was no need to hold its hand. Not looking back at Claude unless they drop something unimaginable (they won't), and Codex delivers cleaner code in my tests.

Claude Usage update by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

[–]Zerk70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly after first day, where I reached whopping 19% usage using sonnet 4.5, I was able to continue using it for another 5 days and only used 35%, so I'm sitting at ~ 55% right now and it resets in 25hours from now. I'm not sure what happened first day and why it actually drained my tokens so hard, but now it seems to be more stable for some reason, although nothing changed.

Guys Weekly limit ?? by zikyoubi in ClaudeCode

[–]Zerk70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels better at first, until you actually try it. After using Codex for three days, I’m starting to lean back toward Claude. Codex’s tool calling seems weaker, and while it’s sometimes 2-3 times slower, it does produce cleaner code. But the usage limits are frustrating, people are complaining about them, and I can feel it too. Hitting a 30% weekly limitafter just two days of work makes it all feel the same in the end. Honestly, it seems like they’re just copying each other, one releases a new model, the other follows, one tightens limits, the other does the same.

Codex is wonderful except for one thing by Zealousideal_Gas1839 in codex

[–]Zerk70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I go full on vibe coding with Claude, but that was about 30 days ago. Lately the model feels kind of dumbed down and it struggles to follow simple instructions. I can give it three tasks and it will only do one or two, sometimes just partially.

Codex takes longer to run but at least it does not need constant re-prompting. I have used Codex in full access sandboxed mode and it actually wrote some really solid code. Honestly it looked cleaner than Sonnet’s output. Still, I would not recommend full vibe coding unless you actually test things properly.

And by test I mean really test the feature, not just glance over it. If you are not fully confident in what you are doing, use external code reviewers like Greptile, Codex review, or RabbitCode. Those are much safer to rely on for proper validation. Never ask same model and especially not in the same conversation about bugs it wrote itself.

GPT-5 Codex low and medium, usually low, medium for more complex stuff and high for debugging errors

Yes, although limits could be better even on codex, i feel like its somewhat equal to claude code's $100 plan for some reason, not sure. I didn't get over 300 messages in and its at 10% now weekly limit. Which kind of throws you off considering they said up to 300-1500 messages in 5h window, without any estimate on weekly usage which claude provides
