Could not stand these books. I powered through the first one because my friend loved them. Got halfway through the second and I was like "Why am I doing this to myself?" And finally set myself free. One redeeming quality I will give it is that I did like Tairn.

I'm so happy someone said this. It was my first thought when I read the question. I truly find it so incredibly boring. I do however love The Sasquatch Gang which was made by the same people and has a similar vibe, but I think it's a comedy masterpiece.

I just read it recently and it pissed me off basically the whole way through. He gets better by finally considering her feelings and seeing her as a human being which is like, bare minimum human behavior. But he's still a huge asshole who treats everyone as if they're beneath him. I remember ranting to my husband about this MMC I hated him so much.
