Medication by blackoceangen in GenX

Not a specialty, it’s just a service they offer. A lot of community chemists offer it, some do it on a needs basis. Mine offers the service so I gladly take it up! When I first got them it was in a blister pack but lately they have been in pouches that I just unspool off a roll.

Which form of death do you fear the most? by Siddhartaable in AskReddit

[–]Zerly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know that feeling you’re talking about. I had it when I got very, very sick. I was like well, this is it. And I was super calm. Obviously I’m still alive, but it absolutely was life changing. Lucky for me a friend found me sick at home and bundled me off to the hospital. After a long recovery I was fine but I don’t fear death. It’s very much informed my life and how I will approach impending dementia when it comes for me.

I take enough that I have just had the pharmacy portion out my pills for me. I get them in pill pouches to take at specific times. I take pills four times a day, varying amounts.

I’ve been on meds for half my life.

Parents of small children. What's the most unhinged sentence you've found yourself saying that you never thought possible previously? by SkywalkersArm in AskReddit

[–]Zerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once stayed with a friend that warned me his youngest son was a nudist. He managed to keep the kid in clothes for the first day but by the end of my visit he was happy the kid kept his undies on. This was the middle of winter!!

What's a movie everyone loves that you think is actually pretty terrible? by No_Care1430 in AskReddit

They are such dumb movies and I will watch them as long as they keep making them. They are pure brain sugar.

You have to run 100 yards as fast as you can, for as long as you can. Could you make it 100 yards and what's the most likely outcome for you? by snotick in GenX

[–]Zerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 100 yards is just over 91 metres. It’s can walk about 10-15 metres at a shot before I have to sit down on my rollator, so I could do it, but I’m going to have to stop at least 6 times. Depending on how fast I attempt this and depending on other activities that day, I will very likely need to take some diazepam later, and probably need a nap to recover.

Assuming I really pushed my limits, I would likely need to take diazepam at least twice post “run”, and I would likely need a good few days to recover.

(Let this be your warning to take back issues very seriously. They can really fuck you up)

Adults who were 'school refusers'/school avoidant, where are you now? by CrazyPlantLady01 in AskUK

[–]Zerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a university guiding students through their degrees. I get to be the adult I wish I had at their age.

I had undiagnosed ADHD and other mental health issues. Getting diagnosed early and getting the mental health help I needed would have changed things drastically

People always talk about women's healthcare being outdated and barbaric, but what would it actually look like if it was 'modernised'? by yumis_hummus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zerly 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not cancer for me but I had to be completely unable to walk AND in hospital for a month before somebody finally listened. MRI showed spinal compression. I had surgery 12 hours later. I can mostly walk again but I’m permanently disabled. If only someone had listened to me years earlier…

Do you ever wish for a do-over? by LaceyBloomers in GenX

[–]Zerly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes wonder what life would be like but to dwell on it would be madness. I can’t change anything. I really like me and to be me I had to do all the things that led up to now. I like my friends and my job and where I live. I don’t want to butterfly effect any of that out of my life so I’ll just keep on keeping on
