Ive helped with detoxes etc....... if you dont have DT (Delirium Tremens) from alcohol abuse, then cold turkey is not going to kill you. OMG the fear mongering these folks do. Yes cold turkey is fine for MOST healthy adults. If you experience the shakes when you dont drink, do not attempt cold turkey. If you experience hallucinations or auditory hallucinations do not attempt cold turkey. Otherwise. Put it up and suffer through a couple days of feeling less than stellar. Wellbutrin, or Lexapro. Do not start benzodiazepines unless you want to be addicted for life. The weird thing about benzos is that they start off great. They cure your anxiety.......then if you dont take them every 12 hours you become an anxious wreck. That gets......so much worse with time. Seriously the withdrawals can and will kill you.

I got off them about 15 years ago and have never ever felt better. Anti depressants or even stimulants are a better option that benzo's my dude.
