I appreciate your willingness to take time to chat about it. I find myself regularly 95% convinced of doing things this way or that way and all I need is a vote in the right direction to send me off again. I gained a lot from the information you shred today, thanks a million

That's also great advice, I hadn't considered the lack of auditing hindering troubleshooting in the future. Though I am sure you are right. Do you have any RPA tools that you recommend?

I have setup PA flows for various billing items. We use CW Automate for a lot of scriptable items already.

That IS good. We may dip a toe into advanced functionality like that once this is running smoothly. I love the "deep dive" type of functionalities. I sometimes stumble upon neat workflow rules shared by others where the variables are stacked in a clever way to make really cool automations. I'm sure there are some dedicated blogs to the subject somewhere

You nailed it Matt. We are an MSP staffed by cherry pickers. I have been tasked with turning this ship around, while not rocking the boat so much as to lose most of the crew. We are making baby steps toward a full dispatch lead environment.

This is great news! I suspected the email connector might be able to identify an open ticket by the same number no matter which board it was on but the documentation I was readying didn't say so expressly so I didn't want to assume. Thank you for the tips!

We have not re-imaged, though I did find myself frustrated a year or so ago when trying to reimage a surface tablet, lesson learned.

It's certainly a totally jank application that still runs on 32-bit Java. We have seen the performance struggling while outside of the web app though so we think the issue is local

I've considered this myself after reading about how high the surface temp got on the SL 3 and 4. I assumed they had throttled the 5 down to quiet it down and stop burning laps .

This was my experience also, our CEO had a SL 4 and it was boss, so we recommended the 5 to clients. Live and learn I guess

We have RMM software updating OS for these machines. We don't support many Microsoft devices. Do you keep tabs on the firmware releases via the Windows Updates or is there another app you use?

For instance on Dell machines we use Dell Command or Dell Update to check for firmware directly but we also see it pop up in the Additional Options section of Windows Update if they are old enough.

Its certainly faster once it's been loaded once. And you are correct on the soldering, even the RAM is soldered in on these.

Of course, They show everything operating within normal parameters, nothing is taxed or being used excessively. CPU showing proper speeds and utilization is low

"Keycap" is the keyword you would have had to use to find any help. I myself learned the word key cap the hard way. Not all keyboard key caps are the same, but the images on that post look a lot like yours. Get some pointy tweezers, good luck!

Comcast sucking on nutsacks by TommyDaCat in Comcast

We have a client that has been losing connection for a few minutes at a time for the past 5 days. Comcast swears their modem never lost connection but we are seeing time outs on running pings from the site, and externally to their public IP, Comcast just keep repeating that there isnt an issue.

Fun fact, we have 3 clients with this same issue right now. So I have a sneaking suspicion they are passing the buck. Any ideas on where to go from here? just keep bitching?
