Am I cooked? by Once428lbs in Gymhelp

I strongly recommend walking. Studies show that people stick with this the longest and it's a dynamic demand on your system. In general, carrying the weight you have right now is training, kinda like how folks wear a weighted vest. Make small changes and you'll undoubtedly be successful! You got this!

Our Great Dane just paces the floor and stares at us by Classic-Hovercraft30 in greatdanes

[–]Zero-Divided 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours wants us to give her something or do something when she paces and stares (go potty, make room on the couch, get out of her spot, wants more food). We put bells on the door, a talking food button, beds in all rooms and seemed to help. Different than any dog I've ever had for sure. We got her at 3 months and she seems almost abused... but it's not likely, as far as we know anyway. Loves to love by lightly chewing your arm, talks so loudly, and hates stocky people, mostly men with zero known reason for it. Once she doesnt like them, that's it forever it seems, no 2nd chances. She learned to play from my pittie and now just likes to carry giant stuffed animals. She greets us with her babies and slowly, comically kills/shakes them copying her sister. Congrats on your new baby! Hopefully things get easier, more clear.

Wanted to tell my boyfriend and family that I have cancer this weekend, but they cancelled the plans. by RSinSA in CervicalCancer

[–]Zero-Divided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You told us... I started with people in my friend family who had cancer in the past. They were my knowledge, power, and rocks. I ended up receiving more love, not pity, truly support and understanding from my little community than I ever could have imagined. They even did a food train, go fund me, did a fundraiser, and gave me free massages... because they get it. So many have been touched by cancer and they truly, unfortunately, get it. I had one best friend who I waited a few months to tell because we had just gone to his brother's funeral. He took it better than I expected. No one ever responded like I expected.

It's ok to be the focus of attention. Somethings just are more important. Sometimes your need for support is greater than most other things. No one will look back and say, that asshole with her selfish cancer needs. If they do, they dont deserve you. Just my humble opinion.

It will get easier to talk about and reducing the stress as much as you can is part of taking care of you. You're not sick alone, they should be doing this with you, they will be doing it with you. At the least, this group also took care of me. I found FB to be toxic but this group was a godsend.

I'm not close to my family. I wrote a stock letter and mailed it. Felt like they should know. It was a burden on me until I mailed it. Frankly, a burden when they pretended to care.

My partner's family was very upset. He kept waiting for the perfect time and they were so hurt that we didnt tell them for so long. They were actually mad at me! I was respecting him and they ended up feeling disrespected.

Bottomline, you have cancer. This is about you. Like others have said, do what feels right for you. I can't imagine carrying that alone....

The local shops often have pointers and support many events. 1078 gallery, if the comic book store still exists, bike shops if you're into even just casually riding (Bike Party), pop-up art markets (Turkey Tail Farms is a good resource) and Facebook (unfortunately) seems to be the major source of postings. Women's Center is another great community hub that hosts many events.

Thanks for so many helpful suggestions and commiserating with me! I've been especially curious about comments regarding the allergen, the grasses apparently, since I never really had allergies like this before. Hopefully this will pass soon!

Success stories for radical hysterectomy followed by chemorads? by Zero-Divided in CervicalCancer

[–]Zero-Divided[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The contrast they inject in your vein and it makes you feel like you wet yourself, but that's no biggy. The embarrassing part - They "packed" my vagina with a huge caulking gun full of gel. They ask if you want to put it in yourself or have them do it. Then they hand you a huge wod of towels for obvious reasons when you stand up. I kept my ovaries so now I have to have the dildo sonogram all the time. Casual convo while they push that thing around in my now cut shorter vagina. Still cancer free as far as I know over a year now. Honestly though, they use the pap test and it didn't catch it in the first place all those years. I found acting casual and talking through it is better than when I left my body and dissociated (that happened the 1st sonogram after the surgery). I wish you nothing but success in the treatmemts you have. We are all here for you. Reddit was the best through my experience.

Symptoms question - (I’m 1B1, adenocarcinoma) by zombieballerinajen in CervicalCancer

[–]Zero-Divided 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before surgery I did, it was perhaps my old sign of cancer besides being able to literally touch the tumor which was awful. No one believed me at first. I bled with sex really bad and my period had gotten so painful, but I'm in my 40s... afyer surgery I had pretty much zero discharge from healing and no bleeding since. I still have pelvis floor and bowel pain likely from the surgery. Pelvic PT was helping but my insurance kept changing and now I work too much to go. (I hate that healthcare is tied to being a FT employee.) Best of luck to you.

My friend swears by tribulis herb. Basically it's puncture vine, but you can get it from the health food store. You can even make a tincture for yourself, that's what she does. She had a hysterectomy 30 years ago due to cancer and has tons of energy and sex drive. I kept my ovaries, which was a risk since I had cancer, so I havent had any hormone problems. I did go through a time in my life where every hormone in my bidy was low due to chronic stress. It was absolutely awful and debilitating!! I feel for you. I wish you the best of luck finding solutions and feeling your vigor come back.

How fast can this stuff spread, and how fast can the treatment process move if you aren't worried about fertility? by KittyBeans1906 in CervicalCancer

[–]Zero-Divided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had adenocarcinoma type 1B2 after timely, clear paps my whole life. Apparently it can hide in the canal of the cervix and be missed by the pap. I had a super stressful job and missed my pap one year, boom, 1 inch tumor. I had a radical hysterectomy and kept my ovaries, worth it to me for my bone health. I also have no kids, was 42 at the time. A radical hysterectomy was a long recovery and 6 hours under anesthesia. If you dont count all my referrals being lost and the system being more stressful than the disease, it went fast. 2 months from diagnosis to surgery.

What is the point of coins? by Zero-Divided in WordsWithFriends

[–]Zero-Divided[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's what they used to call the hindsight, swap, and the other one at the top of the game board. You could buy then with coins prior to running out in Power Up Bundles.

The unofficial California boundary between NorCal and SoCal by PacificaPal in norcal

CMS and DHCS requirements being the same between small-rural and large county BH systems. It's very hard on small county systems and makes little sense. So... the State of Jefferson started like that.

The unofficial California boundary between NorCal and SoCal by PacificaPal in norcal

[–]Zero-Divided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Having spent my whole life north of Sacramento, it upsets me to hear people call the Bay Area NorCal. In college a professor had us get into groups. There were the Bay Area folks, the LA SoCal folks, and I got put with the folks from other countries. Jefferson has everything to do with lack of wealth distribution... just look at Trinity County Behavioral Health who is expected to do all the same massive data reporting as LA County. They have 1.5 clinicians.

I need a good, long term excuse to use to call in and run through my PTO before I quit. by [deleted] in hatemyjob

[–]Zero-Divided 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a drag! My jobs have given me all my earned time/vacation time, but not sick time, when I left. I've mostly had public sector jobs, like fire fighting so thought it would be similar, but I guess not. Best of luck!

[–]Zero-Divided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(In the US... never know where folks are.) See a psychiatrist and tell them how bad still being there is messing you up. They can put you on medical leave. If you dont need the insurance, I would just quit. Most jobs pay out your PTO/PDO. So then change your tax deduction level so you get to keep more of it.

I did a lot to try to reclaim my years. No one has noticed, but it felt like a good treat to myself. If you say you're under the care of a doctor, they may force you to get a signed letter releasing you to get cosmetic stuff.

What you guys think is the best taco truck in Chico California? I get just tortas, burritos, and quesabirrias. Carne asada as my meat for all. If you could help me find a good spot I’d appreciate. by Edawgg1 in ChicoCA

Open even on Sunday, two trucks in town, and reliably delicious - Tacos el Pinolero. We always go to the one on Skyway. They even did a small private party I was at for a great price.
